Publisher's Summary

Parenting is hard, but it doesn't have to be.

This guide to The Whole-Brain Child: 12 Revolutionary Strategies to Nurture Your Child's Developing Mind is a quick rundown of how to become the parent you want to be and help your child become a happy, well-adjusted adult.

In this audiobook, you will find many examples of challenging parenting moments. You will also find some information on the 12 strategies to help you nurture your child's developing mind.

You will learn things like:

  • The differences between the right brain and left brain, and how to help them work together.
  • How to help your child manage when their downstairs (illogical) brain holds their upstairs (logical) brain hostage.
  • How to help your child learn to consider the feelings of others.
  • How to help your child form bonds with others while still maintaining a sense of self.
  • And so much more.

Being a parent is difficult. There are so many moments that challenge us and make us crazy. The important thing to remember is that you are your child's first line of defense from the world. You must help them develop the skills to not just survive, but become happy, well-adjusted adults who thrive. The way you parent will have an effect on all future generations.

Well Placed Summary

However, this resulted in me creating a bunch of bookmarks I will need to sort through in order to get the most out of the book. Even with that being the case, there is lots of really great information here that is backed up by research.

Loved This book

I love that this book provides both conceptual knowledge and concrete suggestions of what you can DO with this knowledge; this kind of practical application is missing from many books of this type. Seriously, buy this book; you will not be disappointed!!

Would definitely recommend it!

This book offers suggestions for developmental activities from birth, and explains the value and science behind each suggestion. I LISTEN THIS AUDIO-BOOK this when I was pregnant, and again while on maternity leave, and still refer back to it for pointers periodically.

Really informational

Finally a book that gives the scientific evidence of why basic toys are best without all the "educational electronic hype", why we need to turn our televisions off NOW, and fresh ideas of how to engage and bond with your child.
