Publisher's Summary

Hurricane Andrew has pounded the South Florida shore and the Miami suburbs of Homestead and Florida City. Residents emerge from their shelters to find near total destruction. As South Florida begins the task of cleaning up, Andrew rolls toward its second landfall, in Louisiana.

The first Category 5 hurricane in 30 years to hit the U.S. devoured South Florida in 1992. Taking a hurricane for granted will never happen again to the survivors, who tell their tales of living through one of the costliest hurricanes in U.S. history.

Hurricane Andrew's Devastation

This episode of Storm Stories was a bit different. It started out with the devastation of Hurricane Andrew in south Florida and followed some stories in neighboring states and the ill fated decisions of those who didn't evacuate. A great episode and cautionary tale with great narration from Jim Cantore.
