Personal experience

Having dealt with OCD and social anxiety myself, this book has started me on my road to recovery. Truly amazing, encouraging, and useful book for those with anxiety-related disorders. I will be listening to it again!

Waste of my time

This book is like having a person one knows go on and on and on about their lives as though it’s the most amazing thing and so important, yet to just want them to stop talking for a minute and/or say something of substance rather than go on and on.

This guy makes “all” of these promises that any intelligent person would know, you can’t claim “all” or “every” “This will cure you” and these grandiose promises are ridiculous and not only that misleading.

Great that he wants to tell his story, but better to a group of people who want to hear his long story rather than what this book claims, and that is to help people.

RIDICULOUS!

As a sufferer of OCD, anxiety and depression most of my life this book was totally unrelatable. I listened to the first 6 chapters(almost 2 hours) and I really wish I had those 2 hours of my pathetic life back believe me. It only got worse and worse... If you're afraid you are a psychopath who is afraid you are going to strangle or hurt someone then this is the book for you but if you are a real OCD sufferer do not get this book for real.

There is a light at the end of the tunnel!

After some recent challenges and seeking help in different places I thought I would try a new route and saw this on Audible. Personally an audiobook is ideal for me as I don’t always finish books and loose concentration, I guess one of my OCD quirks. I honestly highly recommend this. This book has given me hope and made me realise thoughts I wasn’t alone with my thoughts. I have already recommended this book to many people I know and explained there is help out there. Thank you to Adam & Lauren as I know things will get better!

Very helpful though difficult to relate

Very useful techniques in accepting your problems.

The writers use of the word 'Poorly' is really off-putting. No one says that anymore.

Great for understanding OCD

I found this helpful in understanding OCD more and explained a lot of my thoughts in depth. As for helping my condition, I don't think it was any more effective than my CBT sessions.

Fantastic book and so far found it a real help.

Any additional comments?

Great book that interlinks practical help with a real life example. The story of the author is inspirational and helps identify specific mental health issues as well as showing how recovery techniques can be put into practice. Only part way through as worth pausing to ensure you've fully digested and understood each stage before progressing. Would recommended to anyone suffering from OCD or related forms of depression.
