There is nothing more essential to our health and well-being than breathing. Yet, as a species, humans have lost the ability to breathe correctly, with grave consequences. Journalist James Nestor travels the world to figure out what went wrong and how to fix it. The answers aren’t found in pulmonology labs, as we might expect, but in the muddy digs of ancient burial sites, secret Soviet facilities, New Jersey choir schools, and the smoggy streets of São Paulo. Nestor tracks down men and women exploring the hidden science behind ancient breathing practices.

Publisher's summary
This audiobook contains proven steps and strategies on how plants and herbs will boost the immune system, promote healthy lungs, and fight colds and infections. Using herbs as a form of medicine has been done for thousands of years, and many people still use herbs, herbal remedies, teas, poultices, and supplements today to help keep their body healthy and to help take care of their families.
Many people have started learning about plants and herbs - there are plenty of herbs which will actually do more than keep you healthy. Herbs can be used as a medicine alternative to high priced prescription drugs which often have risky side effects. Using herbs as medicine takes time and research, but it's well worth it. Herbs are much more gentle on your body, and they can be lifesaving for anyone who doesn't have health insurance because they're quite inexpensive to buy.
Without your lungs, you couldn't breathe, and without breath, you cease to exist. The lungs are part of the respiratory system, working with other organs and tissues to help you breathe. Every cell in the body needs oxygen to live, and the lungs are what move oxygen into the bloodstream where it's carried throughout the body when you inhale. When you exhale, the waste, in the form of carbon dioxide, is removed.
Your respiratory system is constantly working. It is the vehicle for oxygen to enter your body. Unfortunately, it can also be an entry point for pollutants, irritants, dust, mold, fungus, harmful organisms, and other toxins. Unless you're living in a bubble, the constant assault from impurities can take its toll. Fortunately, whether you're experiencing the negative effects of inhaling toxins or simply want to ensure your lungs are always at peak performance, nature has provided a number of herbs and botanicals that provide deep nutrition for the respiratory system.
For centuries, the traditional medicine systems across the world have been using herbs to treat respiratory illnesses. Modern studies have acknowledged the effectiveness of a number of herbs in treating respiratory illnesses, repairing lung damage, and improving pulmonary function. They can be used as alternatives to pharmacological drugs to provide relief from lung problems.

Story
These days, no one in America feels immune to violence. But now, in this extraordinary, groundbreaking book, the nation's leading expert on predicting violent behavior unlocks the puzzle of human violence and shows that, like every creature on earth, we have within us the ability to predict the harm others might do us and get out of its way. Contrary to popular myth, human violence almost always has a discernible motive and is preceded by clear warning signs.

Russ Harris offers a surprising solution to low self-confidence, shyness, and insecurity: Rather than trying to "get over" our fears, he says, the secret is to form a new and wiser relationship with them. Paradoxically, it's only when we stop struggling against our fearfulness that we begin to find lasting freedom from it.

Story
The latest groundbreaking tome from Tim Ferriss, the number-one New York Times best-selling author of The 4-Hour Workweek. For the last two years, I've interviewed more than 200 world-class performers for my podcast, The Tim Ferriss Show. The guests range from super celebs (Jamie Foxx, Arnold Schwarzenegger, etc.) and athletes (icons of powerlifting, gymnastics, surfing, etc.) to legendary Special Operations commanders and black-market biochemists. For most of my guests, it’s the first time they’ve agreed to a two-to-three-hour interview.

Pleasantly Insightful
Found this to very positive while staying informative. The book gives options on how to utilize the herbs that are suggested as well as recommended with fact base testing. Only wish it talked more on COPD remedies. Worth the listen!

Fantastic little book!
I had a chronic soar throat, nasal drip, sinus irritation, and a dry cough deep down in my lungs for about 8 months. Not being able to breath was causing me fatigue, depression, and extremely low energy. I just wanted to sleep all day. The doctors took x-rays, did tests, and couldn't find anything wrong.
So I bought this little book, took lots of notes, and made a tea from the herbs targeting sinus and antiviral, antibacterial, antiseptic properties, and it worked! I also breathed vapors from thyme, camphor and lavender that I learned from the book, too. After two days, and a lot of coughing, sneezing and runny nose expelling all the yucky stuff, I can take deep easy breaths and no coughing or sinus irritation!
I love this book and am so glad I bought it!
