Fantastic manual to add to your library

This book doesn't bog you down with a bunch of theory. It's a straightforward approach to fundamental JavaScript concepts. It doesn't bog you down with crazy technical jargon. It tells you what a concept is, what it does, and how to apply it. Very helpful style of learning!

In love with this book

I own a few different JavaScript books, and I'm happy to add this one to my arsenal. The repetition of some of the code might get annoying to some, but TRUST ME. It is invaluable. The author will open a chapter with a basic concept, a code block, and build on it by changing the code block to reflect a new concept. The base stays the same, with an extra line thrown in here or there. Write them out every time! You'll retain it SO much better. This is how teachers should teach!

Clear instructions, better than some of my profess

A friend in my class recommended this Ground Up book series to me, and I've been grabbing them since last year. My professors go over my head with some of this material, but these Ground Up books take the same material and explain it like you're five years old. I NEED that! I wish my professors would keep it simple like these books do.

Buy this book

This book and this series are a great introduction to the concepts of JavaScript. You will not be a professional JavaScript coder after listening to this book, but you WILL understand the concepts and how to perform the functions. Enrolling in a code camp after completing this series would bridge the gap between amateur and professional.

Excellent resource for up and coming coders

The information in this book is definitely meant for people learning code instead of seasoned veterans with a decade plus of experience under their belts. With that said? It's wonderfully laid out, and doesn't go over your head with hard to follow technical terms. I wish the exercises went a little deeper and gave the listener problems to solve on their own, but that's a small gripe. This is a great source of information, and well worth the money. Hats off to the author.

Spinning my wheels til I found this course

What a breath of fresh air this series is! I tried a few Lynda courses, but they couldn't keep my attention. It's hard to find the time to sit still for extended periods while I take video classes. I can play this over my speakers and do stuff around the house until the code parts hit.

Very good information

Having the narrator read the code is a little odd, but I got used to it pretty quickly. I started using it to my advantage by pausing the book to write the code and treating the follow up like a professor answering a question. The information is solid, and I'm very happy with my purchase.

Slam dunk learning process

This book gives you complete explanations of the concepts one idea at a time, then gives you the code to match them. Can't get any easier than that. I'm learning a bunch, and not getting information overload while doing it.

Quick, easy, and informative

I purchased the Javascript Ninja book and didn't get half of what I got from this audiobook out of that book. This Ground Up series is a godsend. Keith Dvorjak has done an amazing job.
