This book will take you from complete novice to knowledgeable beginner, with an appreciation for the history behind Java development. You will finish this entry in the series with the tools and building blocks necessary to write simple Java programs, and the foundation of learning necessary to advance to the intermediate, more complex facets of Java smoothly and seamlessly.

This book covers some of the following topics:

  • Who created Java, and why

Would be better in print

The book itself was good but I didn’t like it in audiobook format. Having someone read the code line by line was repetitive, where in print once you get the idea of the code you can skim over the repeated lines.

great book but not a great audio book

The book is short and to the point, it covers plenty of topics and they are well explained but it is not a book to listen to while doing something else or while moving. A good portion of the book is code being recited so you want to be typing/writing it down to completely understand it.
