Publisher's Summary

Whether you are trying to conceive naturally or through IVF, the quality of your eggs will have a powerful impact on how long it takes you to get pregnant and whether you face an increased risk of miscarriage. Poor egg quality is emerging as the single most important cause of age-related infertility, recurrent miscarriage, and failed IVF cycles. It is also a major contributor to infertility in PCOS.

Based on a comprehensive investigation of a vast array of scientific research, It Starts with the Egg reveals a groundbreaking new approach for improving egg quality and fertility. With a concrete strategy that includes minimizing exposure to toxins such as BPA and phthalates, choosing the right vitamins and supplements to safeguard developing eggs, and harnessing nutritional advice shown to boost IVF success rates, this book offers practical solutions that will help you get pregnant faster and deliver a healthy baby.

Horrible Narrator. Read the book instead!

What made the experience of listening to It Starts with the Egg the most enjoyable?

Definitely NOT the narrator! The author's helpful info made is bearable.

What was one of the most memorable moments of It Starts with the Egg?

Anne Flosnik's terrible voice. I first thought it was AI narrating, but when I found out it's an actual person, I couldn't believe they let her do this for a living!

Would you be willing to try another one of Anne Flosnik’s performances?

NEVER!

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

It made me cringe.

Any additional comments?

The chapters are not synced on the Audible app. After suffering for 7 hours, I am buying and reading the book.

Great information

This is an excellent resource for anyone trying to conceive. The only criticism I have is that the narrator is very difficult to listen to.

Quality book, Narration Lacking

Like many others, I thought the narration was AI for quite a while. It really impaired my enjoyment of the book, which is up-to-date, well explained, and thoughtful. I plan on sharing it with friends, although in written form. I wish it had even more on environmental/lifestyle toxins such as air, light, noise pollution, etc. but I realize that may be a bit beyond creating healthy eggs although related to fertility and successfully carrying a pregnancy.

Excellent information!

I wish I found this book sooner. I suffer from Premature Ovarian Aging and I should have been taking so many more steps in order to conceive. my first IVF cycle was kind of a bust so I am going to take the tips from this book and try again in 3 or 4 months. Yes the narrator wasn't the best but I got used to her lol

Monotone Reader

Is there anything you would change about this book?

The reader

If this book were a movie would you go see it?

No

Any additional comments?

The content of this book is good. The woman who reads the book does a horrible job. She has no expression in her voice. I knew this before I bought the book. I really wanted to hear the content so I bought it anyways.

Excellent

Narrator was ok but it’s an informative book so she was fine. But this book was eye opening. Great tips on fertility and just living a healthier lifestyle! Adopting some lifestyle changes such as reducing phthalate and BPA exposure, taking more antioxidants and just reducing overall plastic use. Wish I read this earlier! But read this 6 mo out from ttc and you’re golden!

The reader is torture

What would have made It Starts with the Egg better?

A different reader

What didn’t you like about Anne Flosnik’s performance?

Nothing

You didn’t love this book... but did it have any redeeming qualities?

The actual book is very interesting... I've read half of it myself when I had more time. The reader trashed it for me... The fact that I can't tell what the reader sounds like before I get this (got the book on amazon) makes me want to unsubscribe immediately.

Any additional comments?

Interesting book

Narrators voice a little irritating but overall a good informative book. Does scare you a bit with all the things you shouldn't expose yourself to. Should take it lightly and not get stressed by all the lifestyle changes suggested.
