I wanted Animal Planet; I got awkward sex jokes
I thought "oh look! a free audio book about animals, I love learning about animals... maybe it'll be like listening to animal planet, or an audio guide to different animal noises or something educational.
I won't say "it was a complete waste of time" the production value is quite good. sound effects, music, narration... all very well done and professional.
I actually enjoy it when Sue actually talks ABOUT the animals. It's the bits between animal facts that put me off. Most of the humor is sexual in nature (pun not intended), and generally leaves me annoyed.
I've never heard of Sue Perkins before listening to this audio book, so maybe part of the charm is if you already like her style you'll like the book. ...it definitely wasn't for me.
