Trash garbage

One of the earliest chapters devoted a large portion of time discussing the ins and outs of the history of the sugar industry. It was as if they were reading straight from the Wikipedia page on sugar. Save your precious time and money, look elsewhere.

Useless for USMLE STEP 1

Will try to "exchange" (refund), because the book doesn't start to talk about "medical biochemistry" until Chapter 14, and even then, the information is not detailed enough, nor is it high yield enough. Chapters 1-13 are about the structure of water, and macronutrients. This is at best a middle-school level audio course.

Weird Pronunciations!

The content was reviewed and approved by a team of medical and biochemical experts, so overall the content an information was good. However, it doesn't seem like the narration was checked to make sure everything is pronounced correctly. There are some really odd pronunciations, for example, ethanol pronounced with a long E like "eeeethanol."

Umm, hydrogen bonding doesn't work that way...

The very first chapter of this book is totally inaccurate. Hydrogen atoms bind to the oxygen atoms of other H2O molecules in water formation; this book posits that they bind to other hydrogen atoms.
Total waste of money.

Really bad

Poorly written and or narrated (who can tell?). False advertising, and bad information. Is this a new scam product? Buyer beware

Very good introduction to fundamental concepts.

Good comprehensive resource! This audiobook offers a good basis for med students who are new to the study of biochemistry.

Voice over was great. Some sections were a bit complicated

The voice over was great - I was satisfied with the sound of the voice and the pace of the dictation.
This is a great refresher book for those who are familiar with the topics; but will be complicated for those who are new or at the basic stage. I would have preferred if there was an inclusion of basic analytical methods used in biochemistry.

First couple of chapters bad; didn’t listen past that

I only listened to the first couple of chapters, so can’t comment past that. There were enough mistakes early on that it didn’t seem like listening to the rest was a good idea.

Even ignoring the content, I found the narrator’s voice kind of annoying.
