If you have ever felt any of these things, or anything similar, then you probably suffer from anxiety-induced phobias. Fears are a normal part of life, but there is a point where a simple fear turns into a debilitating phobia. These phobias can interfere with your everyday life to the point where you are afraid to leave the house.

A phobia is characterized by an extreme fear of something which doesn't actually pose a real threat to the person. Phobias are a group of anxiety symptoms that are triggered by certain situations or objects. Some common phobias are needles, snakes, insects, flying, highway driving, heights, and close places. But people can have a phobia of literally anything. Typically, a phobia is developed during childhood, but you can still develop them as an adult.

Chances are, if you have a phobia, you know that it's irrational, yet you can't do anything to control how you feel. Just the thought of your fear can raise feelings of anxiousness. Then, when you experience your fear, you are automatically overwhelmed with terror.

As a rule of thumb, you should always try self-help. The more you can do for yourself, the more you will feel like you are in control of your life. This will help you out in the long run. If your phobias are so bad that they cause you to have panic attacks and you suffer from extreme anxiety, then you will probably want to have professional assistance as well.

I just bought this book and only read the first chapter but I love it so much and already learned a lot! When I shared it with my friends, a few of them had already been recommended it by their therapists. I'm very excited to finish it!

great book

Bought this book for some personal research I'm doing about Anxiety, Phobias, and their causes. This is a well-organized book with great information. The workbook is interesting as well but I haven't really delved into the exercises much. I would recommend it if you are looking for an introduction to understanding these topics and some of the non-medication type things you can do about them.

Helpful book

I have not finished it. But it's a great workbook that helps you to understand your anxiety and work through it. I did not want to take meds for my anxiety so between this book and changing my diet by giving up simple sugars I have pretty much gotten rid of my anxiety.

Good Book

Got this book for a friend that suffers from anxiety and phobias. We live in a rural area and it's hard to get doctor appointments. We've gone through it together and she has gotten a lot of pointers from it and is doing a lot better than she had been.

It demonstrates with facts and studies how the brain plays a huge role in our fears. I have begun to implement some of the suggestions, and have noticed some minor improvements from myself. This audio book is well researched and written in a way where it is simple to understand and good informative book.

great book from williams

I have used this book to supplement the work I'm doing with a good therapist. I learn something important about myself every time I listened to it and I feel like I am listening to a book that is written about me. It has been so valuable in my work towards the treatment of generalized anxiety disorder and depression. For me, this is the most valuable book I have to listen tip it in my entire life. For the first time, I have hope that I can overcome the debilitating anxiety I have lived with for years. I am learning skills that will help me from relapsing into old ineffective behaviors. Great for anyone who deals with anxiety

This is one of the best self-help books I’ve read about Conquering anxiety and phobias. SELF HELP BOOK

This book is a great self-help book. I recommend that you really take your time to go through the exercises in the book. I suffered from extreme anxiety while driving and my friend recommended this book. Try to be open because the book can be insightful and can help with self-realization. Using the methods in the book I have eliminated the need for any medications and I am able to drive anywhere I want without the fear. I truly feel that this book was a catalyst for change in my life.
