Publisher's summary

Imagine how different your life would be if you truly knew how to master your emotions and rid yourself of the feelings of anger and rage.

Almost every person will suffer some form of anger management issues at some stage in their life; it's unavoidable, whether it's an overt form of rage or more subtle forms of frustration. It's much more prevalent than you think. But most people aren't equipped with the right mental tools to identify the underlying reasons for their problems, or spot the triggers which set them off.

Katherine Chambers is an ex-Stanford psychologist who specializes in psychotherapy subjects and all things neuroscientific. However, it wasn't until she left college life and entered the "real world" that she started to understand these theoretical topics in a practical sense. Over the past 15 years she has built a multi-six-figure consulting business and a family of her own.

In this insightful and functional book, Chambers gives listeners a firsthand look into the scientific subjects she studied within academia as well as a practical real-life guide on how to:

  • Spot the actual causes of your anger
  • Identify the common effects of these factors
  • Take responsibility for your own emotions
  • Shift your perceptions about your rage
  • Perform the "thought pattern interrupt" exercise to disrupt negative thinking
  • Adopt conflict resolution techniques to aid with internal anguish as well as relationships
  • Identify the upsides to anger (it's not all bad)

...and much more.

This audiobook is a mixture of theoretical principles combined with real-life practical advice on how to spot and control anger issues. The introspective emotional assessment techniques along with the external observation tools will help alleviate your frustrations for a more ultimately harmonious life.

Anger Management

GREAT!!! I love that this book is mixed with quotes evaluation pieces and general advice. I understand that some of the anger issues can be controlled and there are specific pointers to do that in here. It helps to understand the origins of anger in your head and helps to find ways to alleviate the actions that go along with anger. If you are thinking about getting this book, you should give it a try!

Superficial and pretencious

A waste of time. A superficial theoretical review that tell you what you are supposed to do to manage anger by telling you to buy books on mindfulness, nlp, or cognitive behaviour therapy. I hoped for the next chapter to bring some insights or techniques... Never came... I would not buy this again

Has all the points but the examples are lacking.

The author's personal dilemma example of whether to backpack through Europe or open up a business was a poor one. Find better examples to bring the point home.

This one is a real self help audiobook

This audiobook goes deeper than I thought it would. The questions on the worksheets make you stop, dig deep and be completely honest with yourself. This was not an easy task but once I got over the acceptance step I was able to see where my anger came from and with the audiobook I was able to understand where to go with it and a new way to direct it. Great audiobook.

Highly recommended

This audiobook is excellent. It covers all the bases of biology/physiology behind anger, psychoeducation, self care and relaxation, techniques for managing anger and ways to identify choice or control, as well as taking responsibility for one's anger.

Very helpful and illuminating.

I’ve been dealing with anger all of my life. I’ve had a hard time finding a audiobook that helps sort through the tangled mess that anger creates. This audiobook does just that. I like that it explains anger in both physiological and psychological terms. Anger is a normal and natural emotion. It’s how you react to it that makes all the difference. This audiobook gives you many tools and applications for taking back control. It also uncovers a lot of the underlying factors that contribute to anger. I highly recommend it!
