Not what I expected.

If you're looking for a book to simply explain basic features in ASP.NET? This book might do the job, but don't expect to learn anything practical. With that said, one shouldn't expect to learn any programming language or framework quickly or in a day. However, if the book walked through a simple web app, like an example using basic features in ASP.NET, then it would have been a guide for beginners to potentially learn something. All in all, the book doesn't offer anything you couldn't find on Google.
