My life will never be the same again!

My entire existence changed when the Zombie Apocalypse started. I was bitten and thought my life was going to end at the radio station.

My name is Cherise, and there are people out there that want me dead!

Somewhat disappointing

Any additional comments?

I found this story a bit difficult to listen to because of the stilted writing/delivery. The lack of contractions made the narration somewhat awkward and instead of drawing me in I found myself repeatedly thinking that this just isn't the way people talk. Sure, one character being a bit unusual in their speech patterns is great, gives some depth, but everyone that speaks through the story? It's a good twist on the theme in general, but there was enough off-putting about it that I didn't finish the listen.

Good zombie tale

Good zombie short but i wish it was longer. I feel like these characters and storyline could’ve been expanded much more. Overall good story!

Okay Short Story

This story was okay, but a little unbelievable, as others have said I believe it is better suited for young adult readers/listeners, I received this audiobook for free at my request and this is my unbiased review. The narration which was done by Angel Clark was well done.

Not recommend, to fast and too hard to follow.

this was like listening to a speed reader. hard to follow and no reasons for anything that is happening. can't follow any of the characters.

Typical Zombie Story Best Suited for Young Adults

Zombie stories have become so banal that there are few zombie stories that provide anything new to the genre, this story is no different. I love zombies and love a good zombie story, however, this one just doesn't satisfy that hunger. So far this series, really just a chopped up story, has one twist going for it and honestly that twist has been poked and prodded in many other zombie novels. For those who aren't big into violent zombie horror, this one would pass quite well as a YA zombie novel.

Angel Clark does a good job with the narration. I like her voice and thought she portrayed Cherise perfectly.

I was voluntarily provided this free review copy audiobook by the author, narrator, or publisher.

Not even remotely believable

I wanted to like this, I really did. I've been searching for that perfect mix of zombie fiction. Fast-paced, character driven, but believable. It's hard to say exactly where this novella goes wrong. The writing isn't awful, it's actually relatively descriptive in all the right ways. I think most of the problem lies within the dialogue. There was nothing realistic about the way they talked to each other. It reminded me more of something you would hear in a play put on by kindergartners. There was hardly any contractions... "I do not (don't) believe he would survive long...It is (its) too dark... you are (you're) immune... no I will not (won't) take that chance....People just don't talk like that in every day communication. And I think she tries to move too quickly from point A to point B. The scenes are short and clipped in that "show me, don't tell me" kind of way.

I can't tell if the narrator made it worse or better. Almost every sentence ended sounding like she had just asked a question. But she did an okay job at voice inflection for the different characters. I think given a different story, with better dialogue, she would have done better.

Either way, I'm sorry to say I would not recommend either the story or the narrator to anyone.
