Publisher's Summary

Charles Dawson is trapped 100 million years in the past. Trying to survive from day to day in a world of dinosaurs, he devises a plan to change his fate. As he begins to write messages in the soft mud of a nearby stream, he can only hope they will be found by someone who can stop his time travel. Professor Ron Fontana and Professor Ray Taggit, scientists with opposing views, each discover the fossilized messages. While attempting to save Charles, Professor Fontana, his daughter Lauren, and their friend Danny are forced to join Taggit and his group of mercenaries. Taggit does not intend to rescue Charles Dawson, but to force Dawson to travel back in time to gather samples for Taggit's fame and fortune. As the two groups jump through time they find they must work together to make it back alive as this fast-paced thriller climaxes at the very moment the age of dinosaurs is ending.

"The worst narration I've ever heard"

I made the mistake of not listening to a sample reading. I'll never make that mistake again. As if the choppy, broken sentences with pauses in all the wrong places weren't bad enough, the sing song narration made this story virtually unlistenable. My ears were bleeding before the second chapter began. If I could go back in time I'd go back to the moment I purchased this audiobook and alter time and space to stop myself.

    Story
    "That's A Very Bad Idea…"

Written in Stone is Jurassic Park crossed with H.G. Well’s Time Machine. Great right? Well, it’s almost completely spoiled by the narration. Sangita Chauhan is a competent reader but she is not right for this story. The sweet, genteel British accent doesn’t go with the story which doesn’t have any British characters or connection. That’s something I could get over. What I found especially infuriating is the sloppy editing and audio glitches. Did no one listen to this??? Numerous repeated sentence fragments, coughing and weird echo effects are inexcusable. Even the end credits are repeated (GRRRR!!). The story I can recommend. The narration not at all.

somebody with a little more pride in their work

What reaction did this book spark in you? Anger, sadness, disappointment?

where was the quality control ?

    Any additional comments?

numerous instances of sentences with false starts, duplicate sentences and one very loud cough by the narrator. The last hour was the worst.
