Publisher's summary

Sexy, alluring, ruthless, and oh so complicated.

West Moseley is known as the "charming" Dark Dweller. With his cheeky grin and southern drawl, he can charm anyone, especially women. And does.

But after being held prisoner and tortured by the cruel Seelie Queen, West's past comes back to haunt him. His memories of a tragic event and the truth of what happened on the Light side goes deeper than anyone realizes. Things he wants no one to know about.

Struggling with his own demons, he battles the very essence of what he is - a Dark Dweller - a terrifying beast from the Otherworld designed to hunt and kill.

When the Unseelie King sends him to Ireland to uncover a dangerous artifact, West's entire world takes a dangerous turn.

When a treasure lands in his hands, one he never suspected, nor wanted, he learns one crucial thing: you don't steal from the Demon King...not if you want to live.

West is a spin-off of the Darkness Series. It is a standalone adult urban fantasy romance, but it would greatly benefit the listener to start with the Darkness Series (1-4) first. West contains storylines, world building, and spoilers from previous audiobooks and characters. It's highly recommended starting with Darkness of Light (Book One).

Sexual content, language, alcohol, violence, death, and other mature content intended for listeners 17 and older.

Great Story and Perfect Narration!

I was so excited for West's story after getting small glimpses of him in the Darkness series, I was even more excited because Aaron Shedlock was the narrator. West was exactly what I thought he would be and Aaron brings him to life and makes him even more intriguing than her was in Darkness.

I loved that West's story is about healing and finding your way again. West and Rez both have a past that they need to overcome. Together they have a job to do but they find along the way is even better. This book has all the elements of the Darkness Series and some visiting characters too! The way it ended left me wondering if West and Rez will have another book, if so YAY!!!

The narration was PERFECT! Aaron has that deep gravely voice that was exactly West, add in the touch of a southern accent and DANG!! Oh and there is also an Irish accent...WOW! He really does a lot of great voices for all the different types of Fae too. Couldn't have made a better choice when picking the narrator.

Ten Glorious Stars!

Wow Just Wow! I read this book when it released last year and I patiently waited for it to be released on audio. OMG it was so worth the wait.

The story continues with West after the two worlds merge. West is left broken and full of secrets. Lars decides to send him on a mission with Rez to recover an ancient artifact. The journey of the story of discovery is unmatched. Not just the things they learn on the surface, but the shocking things brought to light from their pasts.

Aaron Shedlock delivers a powerful performance in West. I've listened to him before in other genres, but this book allowed him to delve deep into his bag of tricks. He is so talented and I could not be happier with him as the narrator. He performed each character to perfection. From the humor and slow and sexy drawl of West, Rez's confidence and snark, to Lars's commanding tone. And oh let's not forget the Irish accents!!!!!!!!!

This is a MUST listen, but be mindful, it is book 10 in the series. I recommend listening in order.

Oh my gosh his voice is a breath of fresh air.

Thank God for his amazing voice.
Im so glad i didn't have to listem to the previous female narrator and all that huffing and puffing of hers.
She wasn't all bad but all of that beathing while narrating was to much for me to handle.
This male narrator is one of my favorites and is so much better.
I would have lived if he could narrate all of these books.
The other girl was to dramatic and annoying.
I do wish this Author would make these books better with more HEA and action parts.
Theres to much shitty stuff in these books.

Enjoyable

I liked Wests story. It had a lot of action and an interesting story, and it was wrapped up well all in one book. Great chemistry too!

Favorite of the Darkness Series

As I worked my way through the first 4 book of this series, I saw in other reviews that a lot of people got excited when they learned that West would be getting his own book; it seemed like he was a fan-favorite.

I just have to say, besides being the guy locked in the dungeon for a large part of the series, I couldn’t for the life of me remember where or when he had actually been introduced! So jumping into this book, I was hoping to learn more about him, and why he is so loved.

Let me just tell you, this book turned out to be my favorite of the series. Maybe it’s because there’s a fresh couple, a fresh setting, or maybe I just really enjoyed these characters.

Both West and Rez have experienced extreme trauma in their past, and both are dealing with it in different ways.

I loved coming along on the adventure, and also witnessing these two characters getting to know one another, and growing closer as the book progressed. The epilogue introduced a new quest for our MMC, so hopefully this isn’t the last we see of West.

I’ve been listening to these on audiobook, and I missed mentioning how much I enjoyed Michelle Sparks on the last 4 books. I thought she did a great job, especially with the pixies.

Since the POV switched to West for this one, we also got a new narrator: Aaron Shedlock. I though he did an admirable job with both southern and irish accents and ALMOST pronounced Aisling right! (That was one thing that bothered me over the last 4 books; it was pronounced incorrectly each time it was mentioned! But that’s just because i’m a snob! 😘)

Not my favorite

This was my least favorite book in this series which really bummed me out because I love WEST. It just felt so repetitive, the same thing kept happening, he kept on being attacked, he kept on getting angry, his beast wouldn’t come out, he would get hurt, others with him got hurt, he could not defend anyone. It just took so long to get to the action part of the book, I understand the whole slow burn romance part that’s fine but it just took so long. And then what happens at the end of the story Lars becomes a complete and total jerk, Then the end predicts what everyone thought was going to happen is about to happen even though he swore he wouldn’t do anything to Kennedy. Lars is getting just as bad as Aneira was.

Story + Narrator combo is perfection

HOLY WOW. This male narrator hit this story out of the park. The voices he used to bring the story to life were perfect.

Great Audio and story

The Narrator did a great job with the execution of this story. I really felt every emotion and the voice fit the characters so well. The story itself was even better. I’m an addict.
