Publisher's summary

There Is No Choice Without Consequence

For the past 150 years, the elves and terrans of the Third World have struggled under the brutal rule of the Scourge. No one knows how they arrived, but their motives are horrifyingly obvious: the complete and total extinction of all life on the planet.

What remains of the world's strongest warriors have gathered to form an alliance with the final, desperate objective of driving the Scourge from their world once and for all, but some see this as a fool's errand; the powers of the Scourge rivals those of the gods.

Within the Alliance is an elven named Sephtis; discovered mortally wounded and amnesiac, he was granted asylum in the hopes that he would regain his memory and perhaps turn the tide against their genocidal oppressors.

But Sephtis is no amnesiac. And as he struggles under the weight of his deeds, he will be presented a choice in which he may leave his past behind at great cost. The alternative is to accept himself and become forever known as the greatest nemesis life has ever known....

Universal Warrior: The Ring of Asarra is a story about choice, consequence, and self-acceptance set against the backdrop of mankind's first brush with extinction.

UNIVERSAL WARRIOR

I think this was a really good beginning to a series. It moved back and forth from two different settings but there's a tie-in. There's Demetrius and his children Damien and Sophie who feed on the living and the dead. When they feed on the dead they become invincible.

Then there's the elven, Sephtis and Megan and her brother Aiden, along with others who want to do away with the scourge and take back their world. There was a lot of detail in this story along with the strong characters. I hope to see this series continue. I'd love to see more in the future on each of the main characters.

For a short book, this one is very good and packed with a lot of intense action even while at times I found it hard to follow, but that's just me. I would definitely recommend this one.

Overall, I enjoyed listening to UNIVERSAL WARRIOR especially with the excellent narration from Al Kessel. He does a superb job with each of the characters giving them all their own distinct voices. Him being a skilled voice actor made this book work perfectly.
