The downside to faking your own death is that people tend to get upset when they find out they’ve been had. Yet he can’t remain in hiding anymore: He has to bind his apprentice, Granuaile, to the earth so that she can become the first new Druid in centuries.

Crazy Loki is here, that means it's time for final battle in which Atticus supposed to be a substitute for Thor, but apparently everyone started without him, Slavic plain of existence is burning, even one of the gods is running!!!

And here something shifts I can't say how but the idea of apocalypse got lost somewhere along the way.
Everything turned into a common theme of the previous books "Everybody are trying to get Atticus into trouble and he is reluctant to make new enemies"

I never stop comparing this series to "DRESDEN FILES" and this year new books in the series were released on the same day.Both series previous books ended on cliff hanger, but Dresden files wins this battle.Both books were great but this series can be more, much more, it lacks something important, I hope this something will be in the next book.

Book 5 still going strong

Normally after the 2nd or 3rd book in a series I get bored. Not so with Iron Druid. Great story with plenty of humor.

Another Solid Book in the Series

I honestly don't know how Kevin Hearne did it, but I continue to be quiet pleased with his continuations of his Iron Druid books. I may be biased here, but I think that you can't go wrong with the team of Kevin Hearne & Luke Daniels. Unfortunately, all 8 books have been written, and I now have 1 less book to go. Book 6.. here i come

Great Series

Another great book in this series, love the narrator Luke Daniels and the story lines builds upon the previous book. Keep them coming...

filled with humor, friendship, and trouble

I was excited to see Atticus was ready to bind Granuaile with Gaia making her the first new Druid in over 2,000 years. Unlike, Atticus who carries an ancient sword, Granuaile has a tricked out staff thanks to some crafty Fey. We see significant growth in this feisty, fearless young woman who smells like strawberry lip gloss. It was exciting to see what animals forms she would receive and watching her experience each for the first time was both humorous and amazing.

Of course, Hearne brought danger to Trapped in the form of dark elves, angry gods, and pesky vampires. One of my favorite things about the Iron Druid Chronicles is the extensive world-building using lore, myths, and gods. Hearne shares the history of the dark elves, something I was truly looking forward to. We learn more about Roman Gods, Norse Gods, Celtic Gods and even Hell. The author skillfully provided imagery that brought the stories Atticus shares to life all while our Druids and Oberon attempt to avoid death.

Thing heat up a little in Trapped and I loved these moments. Atticus has a thing for Granuaile, but as her teacher, he never acted. The binding scenes made me laugh and I loved how things evolved.

Never have I wanted an Irish Wolfhound as much as Oberon makes me want one. Getting his POV is an absolute treat and added humor during the darker moments. And we see plenty of dark times with action scene after action scene. Granuaile was a total badass, and the scene with the killer clowns was epic!

Left lacking!

First thing - what happened to the narration. Kevin, WTF, the first 10 chapters were totally different then than all of the previous books. I mean, my first thought was I had the wrong series. Then I realized nope, Kevin just changed it up and not for the better. However, the performance is still excellent, but not spectacular like the first three books. Kevin really picks up steam in the last three hrs.

Oberon was flat and fell short. I didn’t really feel satisfied with different story lines.

Ultimately I give the book four stars across the board, great addition to the series, a necessary chapter I the story arc, and a KEY read. However the books filler for what’s to come and as such

The Iron Druid Chronicles are a satisfactory alternative to the Dresden files.

Great series horrible narration

If you could sum up Trapped in three words, what would they be?

I love the Iron Druid series, but the narration is awful. I won't get any book in this series on Audible. I had to turn it off after one paragraph.

What didn’t you like about Luke Daniels’s performance?

His voices were poorly done and overacted.

I'd give 10 stars for the narrator!!

This one was really good. Oberon, as always, is the absolute best character. I am grateful that we didn't have to read all 12 years of apprenticing, and just went to the good stuff. Hell is gruesome, and Loki is demented - I just really appreciate all the thought that goes into all the different God/Goddess/Mythological creature descriptions. I also liked the bit of philosopy where Atticus delves into why Granuaile has such a problem with the Irish Gods (they are more people-like in a pantheon, while monotheists have a more 'perfect' God). And I adore Oberon's love of all meat, especially sausages! Can't wait for Hunted to come out. This series is a MUST GET!!

Excellent story and reading

This story arc was a grand adventure and paired with Luke Daniel's narration it was an an excellent tale.
