The Beetles, a derogatory term for Pac-udeti, are no longer afraid to call the earthmen "white-grubs" to their faces, and Tony leaves the sheltered world of childhood.
This is science fiction, but any member of an occupying force who has looked into the eyes of the subjugated has known the hatred that simmers behind those eyes.
