Somewhat interesting story tanked by poor audio

Yes! Loved Airframe and other books by Crichton.

Yes. I like Crichton's writing style.

How could the performance have been better?

Audio engineering. Voice would go almost to silent and then get extremely loud. Also the reader was at times apathetic in his reading.

If this book were a movie would you go see it?

long pauses

Great story, love Crichton, but the recording has a lot of long pauses (6-10sec) between chapters.

Great time trip

Really clever mixing of quantum physics and fiction - plus medeval social history thrown in for good measure - it is not high brow stuffy content, just smart use of fact & fiction - a great story that keeps you listening wherever you are. In my case I listened whilst driving through Wales, sitting in my garden and commuting to the office. The narrator holds you attention and builds up the tension as the story countdown moves to zero!! Another superb tale from Michael Crichton (P.S. take the unabridged version - a much richer tale)

Better than the movie

This was an entertaining ride. There were a few gaps and leaps from the story it's self but over all this audio kept my attention the whole time. The Narrator does a marvelous job with inflection and staying constant throughout the book.

This book is a must ,it was easy to follow and well narrated.
IT did feel like i was in the past.

My Favorite Crichton

This is the perfect novel for someone who is both a history buff and a sci-fi fan. Crichton combines the best of both in a relatively fast-paced novel that I consider the best Crichton book.

Pretty good but not great

I'm mostly done with it now and heres what I think. Its a pretty good book. Very interesting subject matter but he seems to have done very little with it. Everyhting is very straightforward. really simple. The narrator is great EXCEPT....for his voices..they are just awful! I wish he would have just read the lines without doing the voices. I got tired of his Merrick/Schwarzeneggar voice about five minutes in. I dont want to harp on it too bad though, it was pretty good I dont regret listening just dont expect loads of depth.

I had a very large problem with this book, i couldn't turn it off!!

As other customers have said, it's non-stop action and they arn't wrong. Highly recomend any sci-fi fan to listen to this one as soon as possible!

Timeline

One of the better books that I have had a chance to listen to. I only listen to books while driving and I found myself wanting to stay in the vehilce to finish this book. It is complete absorbing and one that I would highly recommend to all fans of science fiction.

i really enjoyed this book! the book started a bit slowly but got very interesting and followed the style that i so love from michael chrichton. his humor and drama is portrayed wonderfully with his scientific stories.
ps. i loved the voice that marek got. he was a tru badass
