Publisher's Summary

When Max and Kayla embark on an epic questline few have ever completed, they'll find themselves trapped face-to-face with the primordial forces of darkness.

Now, to return back to the larger game world, they must complete the trials and vanquish the darkness from this pristine holy land before all is lost.

There's just one catch, if they don't complete it within the time limit, they'll not only lose their chance at finishing it, but they may lose their characters as well.

Great 2nd book in this series!

I was given this free review copy audio book at my request and have voluntarily left this review.

Joe Hempel is a tremendous narrator, and I've found I quite like J.A. Cipriano's writing. As with the first book, I liked the blending of Max's real life, and his gamer life. I thought this was a great addition to the series, though I wish it was longer. Just makes me want the next one to come out that much sooner!

I can't wait till the next one.

This is so fun, not only are you involved in a game, but also the personal lives of the gamers. Two who are promised and two who have taken the quest to get promised. What happens next? Please hurry and bring on the third book. I received this audio book for free at my request and voluntarily reviewed.

A sequel that will make you squeal!

Here is your Empire Strikes Back. Cipriano and Garner return to bring you one of the best sequels in LitRPG. In spite of the length of the reading run time, the six hours will feel more like two. You will not realize how time has zipped by so fast.

This book clears up a few things from the last book that weren't closed or explained, and moves the story ahead at a rapid pace that you will love. It's sort of like runnning a marathon from your car. You did the miles, you aren't tired, but you still get all the joy and glory of crossing the finish line. The story advances in this book too, and leaves off in the same manner as the fist time, so you know its good and not going to leave you hanging with any major plot points to gnaw at you as you head over to the next book. WhatI liked about this book was that the characters own doubts and insecurities are just as dangerous to them than the in-game enemies. Which isa bad thing if because if they fail to get oveer them, their characters will be deleted!

The cover art is pretty cool, and it does its job of snagging your attention, but I wouldn't put it on my wall, however since a snarling giant wolf does grab your attention quite nicely it works to make you want to read it.

Hempel hammers out another fine job of narration, and makes you really feel like you know our man Max/Shale. I will say the whole Braveheart speech didn't go over for me like it should have, and I don't know if it was the writing or the narration. Either way, you can hear the authority in his voice, which goes a long way to demonstrate just how much of a leader Shale is becoming.

This series is really growing, and has gotten better with each chapter. You really do not know what you are missing if you haven't tried it yet. This is one of the best LITRPG novels/series out there. Don't miss out!!! Even though I did receive a promo code for this review it in no way influenced my considerations of the material, and in fact, inspired me to be more honest. In fact, getting a code generally makes me harsher as a reviewer as I am more often concerned what someone like Me will decide based on my review.

A highly entertaining VR fantasy adventure

The Vale of Three Wolves is a highly entertaining virtual reality fantasy adventure. The story has a detailed VR world, interesting and involving characters, lots of action, and a bit of romance. The narrator does a terrific job bringing the story to life.

So good I can't wait to delve into the next book

My third read from authors J.B. Garner & J.A. Cipriano and the second in the Elements of Wrath Online Series. Very enjoyable read, especially for fans of FRP and so much more, as good as the first book was this is even better. So good I can't wait to delve into the next book in the series. I especially enjoyed the narrative talents of Joe Hempel.

Max and Kayla's Quest Continues - Wanting More!

Part 2 of the Elements of Wrath Online series see Max and Kayla's quest veer deeper into the game and the stakes get higher - if they lose, it could cost them their characters. Garner and Cipriano unfold a darker element into the game. This team has written a highly entertaining series and I can't wait for the next part.

Joe Hempel's narration is once again spot on. I love his voice and how he puts emotions into the voices almost imperceptibly, but it's there to detect as you listen and strengthens the characters and their journey.

D&D style game with full immersion

Welcome to the 2nd book in a series that is part of a larger loosely connected style/series called LitRPG. This style of book focuses on futuristic gaming style that fully immerses the player into the game and allows them to essentially feel and live the life of their character. This one focuses on the new quests in a massive gaming world and specifically on a side quest that few seek and even fewer success at. The rings of promise. They allow the seekers to bond and eventually overcome the limits of the privacy filter so that they can then bond in the real world as well. Great story with great narration. I was voluntarily provided this free review copy audiobook by the author, narrator, or publisher.

Had Me Hooked!

Max and Kayla are back in Elementalis and their budding friendship hits its first hurdle. The AI filter in the game protects the gamers from identity theft, but it also prevents them from forming more meaningful relationships. Luckily there's a rare quest for the Ring of Promise, an artifact that allows two players to reveal more about themselves to each other, if they can pass through the trials. Max and Kayla embark on the quest, but they face the deletion of their characters if they lose.

This is book two in the Elements of Wrath Online, a series that has impressed me so far! The story just flows, and I was hooked through the whole thing. To say this sequel is about the quest for the Ring of Promise oversimplifies what it is. Max and Kayla are fighting not only the enemies in game, but their own doubts and insecurities about their friendship.

As always, I loved the glimpses we got of real life. The fact that Max is fighting in game to earn money to help with medical expenses makes his struggle more important than just leveling up. We also get glimpses of the future in the 2300s after climate change and limited resources altered the real world that are interesting.

The narration was awesome, it fit the tone of the book perfectly. Joe Hempel performed subtle character voices that never pulled me out of the story. I requested a copy of the audiobook, and I'm voluntarily leaving a review. I can't wait for the assault on Crystalfire Keep!
