Publisher's summary

The Brotherhood wants her gone. The demons want her dead. Not bad for her first day as a Chosen One.

When Nava Katz half-drunkenly interrupts her twin brother's induction ceremony into a secret supernatural society, she doesn’t expect to accidentally torch his life-long dream and steal his destiny.

Horrified she’s now expected to take his place, Nava is faced with the one thing she swore off forever: a purpose.

The all-male squad isn’t cool with a woman in their ranks and assigns her to Rohan Mitra: former rock god and their most ruthless hunter. He may be the perfect bad boy fling with no strings attached, but what happens when he won’t let her run - not even from herself?

That might prove as dangerous as defeating the vengeful demon out for her brother’s blood.

Odds of her new teammates expecting her to fail? Best not to think about that.

Odds her succeeding out of spite?

Pass this one!

I could not finish this book. The story started out so funny and entertaining that I immediately order the second book. I listened to 5 hours of the book and 80% of Nava’s conversation was sexual. Nava is a horny, mouthy, irresponsible young lady. Her powers manifested when she was giving a hand job to a demon. Granted she did not know that he was a demon, but it set the tone for the book. She whines because she was chosen over her brother and because she did not have the years of training like the others. She looks at all the men as a sexual object.

The demon club is an old Jewish organization created to fight demons, it is similar to the Templars. Young Jewish males are identified at birth to have the characteristics to become a hunter. They spend 20 or 21 years of training. On their 21st birthday they are tested for their magic ability.

I am not a prude. I don’t expect urban fantasy genre to be on par with fine literature. I do like a little romance and even a roll in the hay, swearing is okay too. I like strong kick ass women, with a little snark and she MUST be intelligent. Nava is missing the intelligence, and self-respect even a sexual liberated woman must have. I return the second book.

Amazing

This book is absolutely hilarious. I was dying of laughter in the middle of my office to the point where I actually had to take the ear buds out and explain to my bewildered coworkers why I was laughing so hard. At one point, I left the room altogether and listened to the scene outside where I wouldn't be a distraction to others. Very good book that brightened my boring Saturday.

I agree

unlikable is spot on. more like, narcissistic, bloated, and all around annoying. when you want to deck the main character, that's when you should probably stop reading..

good

nice to have a more organic attraction between the two she is a party girl who seems to be constantly in heat surround around a bunch of very attractive men and hooked up with the first aggressive man that came on to her after she found out he was great in bed she wanted more and more of it. He on the other hand seems like naval reminds him of someone and is a major control freak which excites her more. So reguardles how poorly he treats her she will still go back for her physical needs. At least it's not a vampire blood bond or a psychic mating bond that forces them to feel good and be together it's just pure lust

just blah..

It didn't grab my interest at all.. other reviews stated how hilarious it was and I definitely didn't find myself bursting out with laughter or even a slight giggle.. I guess I was hoping for something more like Darynda Jones Charlie Daniel's series.

A great breath of fresh air has just blown my mind

The premise is nothing new bad ass girl gets thrown into a male dominant world and has to struggle to keep up with the boys.
Oh, but how well it is written. As a true audiobook junkie I love to find these rare jewels and devour them. In a nut shell, young single Jewish girl gets herself placed into a group of Alpha males whose singular job is to kill demons. No girl has ever been where she finds herself, but fortunately she has enough attitude to get the chance to show she can play with the big boys. There is sex in this book but from my viewpoint as an older male who has had many a frank talks with enough women to know the sex shown from a woman's POV in this book is pretty right on the nose. The story moves along and keeps the reader involved. I finished this book in less then a day, which made for a long day. I'm buying the next one...

Pass!

I couldn't finish this one. It started off ok. Mouthy, oversized, irresponsible 20 year old is chosen over her twin brother to be part of a super secret Jewish organzation that hunts demons. Her twin trains his whole life for this and BAM he's not chosen during the ceremony. She is. She spends the whole book whining about how she can get her brother his life back, trying to absorb a lifetime of instruction in a matter of days and having sex.

I did not like how she was treated by the organization because she was the first female. I didn't like how her parents and brother made it seem like it was her fault that she was chosen. No wonder she had an attitude and didn't like herself much. She hadno support and no one believed she could do it. The plot was boring. A demon after her for killing his son with a hand job and another plot that roles into book 2.

I'm sorry I wasted a credit on this. Not going to continue with the series.

Lead character is annoyingly immature

She doesn’t seem to grasp the severity of the situations she puts herself in. The sex scenes are reminiscent of teenager with low self esteem and no one to answer her questions. Everyone seems dislike and disrespect her. I couldn’t even finish it.

Thrilling

I believe I came across this book on an audio page in Facebook and was not disappointed. I really enjoyed the thrill and suspense of this story. The outspoken Nava was entertaining. The crazy things she does, shows her carefree age. The cast of characters is very interesting and the narrator did an excellent job with their personalities as well as their accents. Looking forward to the next book in this series. I know it will be as riveting as the first book.
