Publisher's summary

Not one to let being banged up in Sick Bay stop her, Max has had a brilliant idea. But she needs Markham to execute it on her behalf. The subject of this cunning plan is Peterson, struggling with another bereavement and not doing very well. What’s needed to get him through it is sympathy, sensitivity, tact and understanding.

Step forward Mr Markham, for whom sympathy, sensitivity, etc., are things that happen to other people. Combine a fanatic from R&D, a head of Security with his own problems, a steam-pump, two historians who can’t even be in the same room as each other, some fractious Protestants and a large body of very dirty water. Told in Markham’s own words, this is the story of an intervention - St Mary’s style.

For Fans of St Mary's - old and new!!@

Honestly who doesn't love all the wonderful misfits of St Mary's? And in these short stories we get to focus on one of the endearing crew. Thank you for making Mr Markham the star of this ditty.
Now... when are we going to see these people on screen and where do I submit my application even though I can't quite decide between History Dept and R&D.

Jodi Taylor is a treasure.

If you have not read a St. Mary's story. I envy you. Not a bad one in the bunch. Fun characters, great dialogue, the Audible narrstions are superb. These are my kind of folks - weird, screwy, playful, dedicated and more real than most who are breathing

This was an awesome book. I love Jodi Taylor, I love the narrator, she does such a great job, the story comes alive and I enjoyed every minute of it.

I adore these antics

You never know which crazy situations are going to come up next when these characters go on an assignment.

Nicely done

Another winner in the Saint Mary’s ChronicleS. The narrator, as always, is excellent. This is a much more lighthearted story than some of the novels, and therefore a nice break in between novels.

Humorous & heartwarming

A light humored interlude in the St Mary’s Chronicles. Zara Ramm does her usual excellent job of bringing characters to life especially Markham’s west country drawl.

Love Markham stories

This is a delightful segue between some heavier plot lines. Narration is superb, as usual, thank you Zara Ramm.

Love it

I listen to the main St.Mary’s collection and this is a nice and fun addition to it. Would definitely listen to more of these.

Not good

I know this is only a short story from what seems to because large oeuvre of similar stuff - but I’m definitely going to try more of these.

The obvious first: a female narrator who distinguishes zip between male and female voices or persons narrating a (I think) male main character doesn’t really work well.

More annoying is the apparent belief that semi-funny snarling commentary performed is saved by a heavy slow-mo British accent - because there’s really no story to talk if here. Basically just Brit talk.

I’d recommend Monty Python.

Another gem!

Always enjoyable, the short stories are like a lovely digestif. Thank you again for these shorter adventures.
