Publisher's summary

Clio might be a nymph living in exile among humans. And she might possess the rare ability to mimic any magic she sees. And she might have just seriously ticked off the most powerful family of spell weavers in the Underworld. But she is not in love with an incubus.

Lyre is the rebellious black sheep of the Weaver family, and he's the only reason she survived her recent Underworld "vacation". He's also the sexiest thing she's ever seen. Together, they have to track down a catastrophically dangerous magic - a magic he created, she sort of stole, and they both lost - before his family gets their hands on it.

And that means fighting alongside him in a desperate attempt to avert complete disaster. But she is definitely not in love with him. At least, she's pretty sure she's not. Mostly sure. Maybe sure? Crap.

Needs more Piper

I loved this book but the two teases of 12-year-old Piper weren’t enough! I need more Piper! Can’t wait for the next series that has all four of them!

Pretty good story, female narrator can't pronounce

The storyline is good, as is usual with Annette Marie's writing, however, Melissa Moran has some weird "accent" or something and needs to TAKE SOME LANGUAGE LESSONS ON HOW TO PRONOUNCE WORDS IN ENGLISH!!

MELISSA HORRIBLY MUTILATES MANY WORDS BY NOT PRONOUNCING THE LETTER "T."

It may be a regional accent or a New York accent or something, but she mispronounces at least these words over and over again: Curtains, Tightened, Button, Frightened. Instead of correctly pronouncing the middle 'T' correctly, she simply drops the letter as if it doesn't belong in the word, when it Damn Well Does Deserve to be pronounced!!

She will say "CUR - ANS" instead of "CUR- TAINS," or "TIGH-END" instead of "TIGH-TENDED" or "BU-EN" instead of correctly using the letter 'T' and pronouncing it "BU-TEN."
She also slaughters frightened into being "FRY-ENED,"instead of the correct "FRY-TEN-ED."
She really needs some language pronunciation correction treatment by a Speech Pathologist as IT IS VERY ANNOYING TO HEAR ENGLISH PRONUNCIATIONS BEING SLAUGHTERED SO BADLY! (And as you can guess, she would mispronounce at least one word in the last sentence.)

I got so MAD at this book!!!!

So Clio and Lyre are on a mission to get the KLOC back from Erik punk, tale when Clio just all of a sudden starts displaying these ninja like mimics and moves that I am here for.... I mean girl power and all that. Lyre is still his deadly seductive self so all in all it's good. Now this is why I took a star off. I love the fact that Clio is more assertive and bad tale but there are times when that part of her should have come out and she just underperforms. To find out you were lied to, betrayed, and cast away should set of you FTS moment and have you getting revenge. She just kept disappointing me over and over again when she didn't have that I'm done with this bull moment. maybe in book 3.... Maybe.

GOOD CONTINUATION

Enjoyable. Clio and Lyre are in caught in desperate situations. Clio is rather naive and is therefore sometimes impulsive. The tensioned moments are very well projected/written by Annette Marie. I find myself so engrossed in the story that I am kept awake through the night finishing the story. Very talented writer. The narration/performance by both narrators are good though as I said in my previous review for book 1 the voices for the characters differ being narrated by different narrators spoils it.

I can't wait for book 3

I already know I'm going to have a hangover from this series. I'm so sad I only see 3 books.

Good Read

I love Annette Marie and the characters and story were A+ as usual!! Performance was too notch. My only complaint was that I felt like once things got going I was filled with anxiety and on my feet for most of the book (and for the others in this series). I really enjoyed the story, it was interesting and the characters were so well thought out... I just like a little less anxiety 😂😂 I highly suggest reading Annette's Guild Codex series, it is awesome!!

Spellweaver #2

For this second book in the Spellweaver Series, it continues where book 1 (Night Realm) left off.
I am a little less impressed by the FMC in this installment. her inner monolog is more irritating, niave and "poor me" in this book, which was very different than how she was portrayed in Night Realm. Previously she was timid and reserved, sure, even niave, But a victim? No, not at all. She took every opportunity to fight back or figure out a way through.
But not this time...

And once again, I felt the storyline was dragging on and I was ready to wrap things up about an 1 1/2 from the actual ending. For those of you reading, that would have been around chapter 23/24.

If you are planning to listen to the Audiobook, the narrators are fabulous as always.

I will be moving on to book 3 of the Spellweaver Series. (There's a secondary character I'm hoping gets more page time. 😁 )
