Do you long to chase your dreams but fear to take the first step?

In this contemporary spiritual odyssey, an ordinary man recovers from a traumatic ordeal and returns to normal life only to toss and turn at night because of a prophetic dream and a newfound desire to better the world.

With a family to provide for, he ignores the dream and his aspirations until he makes an incredible discovery: he is not alone. A handful of others share the same uplifting dream and powerful calling. As the puzzle pieces miraculously fall into place, he joins them to change the world.

Unbeknownst to this ambitious team, a higher power guides them toward their destiny, rewarding choices that favor it’s mysterious plan, and punishing—sometimes brutally—those that do not.

As we watch the principal characters evolve through their glorious triumphs and heart-breaking tragedies, we also see how to change our own story, break down the fabricated walls that entrap us, and create a more fulfilling life.

Through its engaging storyline and relatable characters, The Road to Amistad dares us to explore our true selves and shines light on the dazzling future that awaits us if we will take the time to listen to our hearts, heed life’s subtle messages, and follow our dreams.

A Riveting Adventure

What did you love best about The Road to Amistad?

This is an interesting story that ropes in you into an intriguing world that combines a futuristic thriller and sci-fi. The characters explore the theoretical concepts of creating a new, borderline Utopian, world and experience the backlash and harsh reality that goes along with it. The author's style is unique and entertaining.

Who was your favorite character and why?

As the environment changes, each character embraces new challenges and strains on their interpersonal relationships. Ken was the most interesting character, because this world takes the greatest toll on him and his tumultuous relationship with his wife.

What about Michael Rubino’s performance did you like?

Michael Rubino performed an exciting narration that will keep you engaged through out. His subtle changes to distinguish the various characters were enticing and well executed. I have listened to many books on tape and he is a stand out.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

There were some humorous moments that were character driven with the detailed descriptions. Some of the conversations were thought provoking and reflective.

Good Book, Great Narration.

What made the experience of listening to The Road to Amistad the most enjoyable?

I agree that is a tough book to review. It's not like anything I've read before yet it kept me turning virtual pages anxious to find out what would become of Ken, his family and the other real life a characters that were introduced in Detour From Normal. I would recommend this book and definitely suggest getting audible version so you too can enjoy The Road to Amistad and the remarkable narration of Michael Rubino. I'll be waiting for next book by Ken Dickson.

What did you like best about this story?

I loved the narration done by Michael Rubino. Michael did an amazing job with giving each character a voice of their own, with accents, tones, and language that made it easy to discern who was speaking even before the writing told you.

Have you listened to any of Michael Rubino’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

I have not listened to Michael's other stories but I would love to listen to his future books. His easy going and relaxed voice was enjoyable without being at all monotone. He gave voices to each character that made is fun to listen to and easy to understand who was speaking.

Any additional comments?

I look forward to any future narrations by Michael Rubino. I really enjoyed his style.
