Publisher's Summary

Red to the elbows with the blood of his people, the Nameless Dwarf's only desire is to save the ones who got away.

The dwarves have gone!

Thousands have been slaughtered in the blood-drenched streets of their ravine city by one of their own wielding a demonic axe.

The survivors have fled beyond the mountains, heading into a realm haunted by the nightmares of a twisted god.

When Nils Fargin, son of an underworld boss, is hired to find them, he travels with his client to seek the advice of a lowlife mage. With what he learns, he should have asked for more money.

The trail leads them to the domain of the terrifying Ant-Man, who is rumored to eat the flesh of anyone refusing to pay his toll.

And as if that wasn't enough, it turns out Nils' client is none other than the Nameless Dwarf, better known to his kind as the Ravine Butcher.

The Nameless Dwarf is an epic tale of remorse and redemption that pits a whiskerless thief, a guilt-driven assassin, a consumptive wizard, and an amnesiac dwarf against the worst imaginings of a craven mind.

But the companions bring troubles of their own, not least of which is an ancient grimoire that leads them inexorably toward a forest of tar and an evil that threatens the existence of an entire race.

The last hope of the dwarves comes from the unlikeliest of sources: a mythical city beneath the waves, an axe from the age of heroes, and the Nameless Dwarf, in whose veins flows the blood of legends.

The Nameless Dwarf: The Complete Chronicles contains all five books of the Chronicles of the Nameless Dwarf.

Wonderful imagination! Glitches apparently fixed.

What made the experience of listening to The Nameless Dwarf: The Complete Chronicles the most enjoyable?

Seeing that one of the reviewers found some repeats and glitches in the last part of Nameless, I waited to listen to it, hoping the producers would see the review and correct the issues.  I'm delighted to say that I was right and that the wait was absolutely worth it.  I downloaded it again from my library and found no issues at all.   More importantly, I loved the book. Prior has a wonderful imagination and created a fascinating universe with full-bodied main characters and inventive bad guys. The plot and action sequences kept me fully involved throughout.

Who was your favorite character and why?

Has to be Nameless. Clawing back from his past sins, he makes both a physical and a psychological journey in pursuit of redemption. He's earthy, funny and powerful.

Which scene was your favorite?

The last few scenes were especially good, battling with the arch villain.

If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?

Go see it! This story and the characters would make a great movie.

Any additional comments?

I'm looking foward to Prior's other books with these characters.

Not Another Lord of the Rings Knockoff

What made the experience of listening to The Nameless Dwarf: The Complete Chronicles the most enjoyable?

The author and narrator had me routing for Nameless right from the start. I wasn't too sure if I would like some of the other characters, but just like in life, you can't always judge someone from first impressions.

Have you listened to any of Bob Neufeld’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

I have listened to other performances of Mr. Neufeld. This one, like his others, draws the listener in, and makes the characters come alive. I think the swagger in the Nameless character was spot on. I will look for more of his performances in the future.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

I am not sure if I could pick one specific moment that particularly moved me, but throughout the book the Nils character did things that showed the growth of his character. This as a whole moved me. Some authors would not have allowed that particular character to grow and I commend Mr. Prior for his choices.

Any additional comments?

When I read the description and decided to listen to this book I thought it would be a formula fantasy book and I am so happy that I was wrong. The world Mr. Prior has created in these stories is familiar without being stale. There are interesting creature characters with their own backstories that I hope will be revisited in other stories.

Glitch corrected -- downloaded update for free

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

The narration is top notch. There was a glitch at location 52 in the original version, but this has been corrected and the error-free version can be downloaded for free.

What did you like best about this story?

The characterization by the narrator -- particularly the voice he uses for the Nameless Dwarf himself. Lots of drama, pathos, and humor.

What about Bob Neufeld’s performance did you like?

His versatility, characterization, and the timbre of his voice.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

There were a number of scenes of strong emotional content that the narrator brought out very strongly, especially the climactic scene.

Any additional comments?

The reported glitch at location 52 has been corrected and the corrected version is free to download for those who previously purchased it.

Enjoyed! No editing issues.

What did you love best about The Nameless Dwarf: The Complete Chronicles?

It's about dwarves. Too often in fantasy the main characters are elves or humans. So far, I have not found any of the editing issues discussed by other reviewers. Perhaps that problem has been corrected.

Who was your favorite character and why?

Nameless. He doesn't fit the typical epic hero trope.

Which character – as performed by Bob Neufeld – was your favorite?

Hard to choose.

If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?

An evil weaon forces a dwarf to commit a heinous crime against his own people, now it's time for him to set things right.

Any additional comments?

Not your typical fantasy epic. Breaks the traditional mold and brings you something different.

Can't finish

Could not really get into the story or the narrator.
I don't really feel empathy for the characters to bother finishing story. It feels very much like D&D in a book.
