LitRPG means Literary Role Playing Game. Simply put, it’s the book version of watching someone play a video game, usually one that’s set up like an MMO (massively multiplayer online) RPG. It’s a blend of sci-fi and fantasy, depending on how it comes to be that our main character ends up living inside a virtual reality. the point of LitRPG is not how we get there, but that we get to be in this virtual reality period, living life as a badass video-game character. Does not disappoint.

One wild and utterly enjoyable ride. Excellent narration. If these stories didn't lens themselves so we'll to binge listening I would have gotten so much more done today.
Eagerly awaiting the next installment(s).

Beware the attack of the vulgarian

OK, the title is a little strong. But I started listening to this series in part based on an Audible recommendation as I was looking for audio books my sons might like. They loved Book 1. When we started listening to book 2, I noticed that the language was getting a bit more vulgar. More swearing and more sexual innuendo. This book, the third one, was off the charts. Plenty of F bombs, B bombs and a few MF bombs. Lots of sexual innuendo. Really adolescent stuff, and not in a good way. I told my boys they need to find the series in a library because I am not downloading any more of these! Really disappointed in the direction the series took.

Still really loving the land

Characterizations, plotlines that are intricately interwoven, action, adventure, comedy, high drama, what's not to like?

Yeah, the alerts can get old, but if you were gaming you'd be dealing with them too, so what the heck. :-)

language

Can't listen to it in the car with the kids due to all the foul language. Too bad, it's an interesting story.

Another great book

Just like all the other books, this is yet another great title! Time to start the next one in the series! What a great story Coupled with the perfect narrator! I'm getting scared because I'm about to start the last one available on audible, however Kong has said the the other 2 are in the way. The only gripe I have is a small one and is expected in all RPG games and that is the fact that there are more missions abound than the ones that are getting resolved. I do understand this is job security in a way. However, at the current list of task and the time it takes to complete one, we will need another 5 books just to solve the current workload. Anyways, I still stand by the fact that this is my number 1 series in books ever done! Invest in your imagination! Slay your enemies, Honor your allies, Live!

A. Litrpg FATHER. WHAT A JOKE

it's a fun story but not worth the money it's a mix of a frat boy with boring sexual jokes and it feels as if the story never changes the character doesnt develop at all. if you are looking for one of those resourceful, many steps ahead, smart mc you are out of luck big time

Mary Sue's stronger, faster, cooler brother

First of let me say that the story itself, the world, the concepts, the side characters, everything else in this series is great.

I gave this series 3 extra tries knowing full well that each book was cut in half to sell more of them. The main character is absolute trash. I've never hated a main character more. Doesn't grow or develop. No changes as experience is acquired. Nothing. The same childish awkward humor as the first book and outdated "how goes it my fellow teenagers" style of comedy. It takes place in the future but references 2010's, so the main character is also a hipster douchbag.

All the characters "selfless" motivations are thinly veiled excuses to be greedy, power hungry, and self centered. Never learning from mistakes and not accepting responsibility. A flash of morality to show he's a deep thinker then boom, doesn't matter cause loot! But he's such a good guy because this one sentence says he is! And he's so cool and always wins! And he can't die even though it really hurts! Oh also he slays so much puss. And is totally not myself that I wrote into the story. - the author probably

Besides having the most hated protagonist in literature, the story follows the exact formula of the last 3 books to the letter. And each book is the same story arc repeated 3 times with a cliff hanger at the end. Compound that with plot armor so thick he may as well have a plot bunker and you have yourself some sloppy writing.

Other than random deux ex machinas randomly popping up as a writers convenience, the world is amazing. I love everything about it. That's why I'm so incredibly disappointed.

The final nail is the whole self proclaimed father of LITRPG is a little much when all your blogs, bios, and even story synopsis is an ad to go to the Facebook page so you can be told to buy more of his books.

Read the first book, make your own judgement call, but don't say I didn't warn you.

Also Nick Podel has advanced incredibly in his voice acting ability!

omg they just keep getting better

wow just finnished and i cant wait for the next book. Have you ever read a book and thought they just cant get any better. Well they do, every book in this series gets better than the last. Let me say this, it is well worth the read or listen in this case, so get this book and if you haven't gotten the first 2 get them to.
