Publisher's summary

Penguin presents the unabridged, downloadable audiobook edition of The Hidden Oracle: The Trials of Apollo, Book One, by Rick Riordan, read by Robbie Daymond.

How do you punish an immortal?

By making him human.

After angering his father, Zeus, the god Apollo is cast down from Olympus. Weak and disorientated, he lands in New York City as a regular teenage boy.

Now, without his godly powers, the 4,000-year-old deity must learn to survive in the modern world until he can somehow find a way to regain Zeus' favour. But Apollo has many enemies - gods, monsters and mortals who would love to see the former Olympian permanently destroyed.

Apollo needs help, and he can think of only one place to go: an enclave of modern demigods known as Camp Half-Blood.

Great audiobook

I had so much fun listening to this book:)
I read this book irl a while back and decided to listen to it now because I needed something light to be in the background while working/doing chores. I eventually just found myself being so sucked to the story and narrative that I just listened to it with my eyes closed, not doing my chores lol

Stunned

A sequel to the epic Percy Jackson, the new series are AMAZING. Packed with action, Apollo is hilarious. A whole new experience by Rick Riordan.
—Although Percy isn’t a main character :(

Rick did it again and bringing Apollo with him is 2 birds single shot it's adventure all along but the humor Apollo provided is the best of class

good book.

Any additional comments?

Please do not make book 1 available if book 2 isn't. This has happened twice lately. I could understand if the book got low ratings or a new release. My Mom has asked for the next books but still not available.

Why did I wait so long to read this book!?

Finally finished reading the first book in the Apollo series by uncle Rick and it did not disappoint! Familiar characters from the Olympus series are welcoming and new faces arrive that bring the story to live and bring you back to Camp Half Blood.
I will be starting on the next one as soon as I have written this review.

I guees this series could be read as a stand-alone but there a few referance to the the last two that could get confusing, so I would recomand that one should read the Olympians series and the Heros of Olympis before diving into this one!

Rick Riordan keeps delivering

If you like the Percy Jackson series, you Will love this one.
you know how apollo is in the books? arrogant? self-centered? like pretty much all gods. Well, he is mortal now. And constantly fearing for his life.

Review:

I peorsonaly enjoy Rick’s books and I have to say that Percy Jackson and magnus chase have been better than this (so far) which makes this title go to third place of my Rick books. I hope it becomes a bit more interesting. Also the dude who reads the book can sound extremely boring at times. Though I will still recommend the book for humor and time spending. ;)

It's great, but....

Since I was a little girl I became interested in mythology, and Rick Riordan's books rescue that passion in me. It turns out that this new series of books seemed unattractive to me. The main character is the god Apollo, who was punished by Zeus (reason not explained), and is on earth without any divine power. That wouldn't be a problem if he wasn't so self-centered and immature. That doesn't fit with a god ... Okay, by the end of the book Apollo is a little more bearable, but even so, he's a very boring and spoiled teenager. He could have a little more wisdom, couldn't he?
Although I was excited to get to know this new series, now I’m not that interested in continuing. These are books that will stay for another time. I will not abandon the books, but this first adventure of the god Apollo did not delight me, like the other books by this author.
