Publisher's Summary

The slaughter is on! Across the galaxy, human mercenaries are being ambushed, and an ever-increasing number of companies aren't returning from their contracts. Someone even appears to be plotting the demise of the premier Four Horsemen companies, and disaster for the other three companies has only been averted by the narrowest of margins.

Sansar Enkh, the president of The Golden Horde, knows her company is likely to be next, but has no idea who is behind the attacks, or when they will strike her beloved Horde. Acting on a prophesy from her dying mother, she knows her only chance is to take the company off-world to draw out the phantom enemy.

The Horde is being scouted and an attack is imminent. As the Revelations Cycle draws to a close, will Sansar be able to figure out who is behind the attacks in time to save Earth's mercenary companies from the horrific fate waiting from them? The fourth horseman is in play, and time is running out to save the Earth and everyone on it!

Emotion?

The narrator lacked proper emotional control for a good story to be told. The drama created by the author wasn't felt in the narrator's voice.

Warning - unresolved cliffhanger - bad narrator

What would have made The Golden Horde better?

1. ) Finish the story arc rather than end on a cliffhanger2. ) A narrator capable of expressing emotion

What could Chris Kennedy have done to make this a more enjoyable book for you?

Finish the story. The first 50 percent of this book is about simulations of battle. Then, finally the book starts to work on the conspiracy theme from the previous books. However, the book does not close the arc -- it just leaves it hanging. None of the future 5 books released so far close the cliffhanger.

How did the narrator detract from the book?

The narrator lacks emotion and all characters sound the same. He reads sentences in a fashion that totally blow the meaning of the sentence.

What reaction did this book spark in you? Anger, sadness, disappointment?

Very disappointed and angry that the authors were too lazy to finish what they started. Very angry at the bald attempt to string readers along.

Any additional comments?

Do yourself a favor and do not start this series -- it goes nowhere. Five additional books in this universe have been released after this travesty and yet the main story arc is never closed. Horrible!

Narrator was better

I was hesitant to get this book because the narrator has a hard time pronouncing the word button (and similar words) but he did a better job this time(not perfect)

god awful narrator.

please, please, please do not use the same narrator again. seriously. no inflection. barely new how to pronounce certain words. other than that, great story. wonderful plot and twists. eagerly awaiting the next installment. find a narrator worthy of the story.
