Great story and writing, disappointing ending.

I enjoy the series and live the author. I wasn't a fan of the ending indent want to give any spoilers but i was upset not with the chosen fate but that I was teased something and never got to see it.

holy smokes

Easily the best Salvatore book yet. An hour and a half drive to and from work has become Dirzzt time (although Jarlaxel is my favorite). From Homeland and on. Now to Gauntlgrym!

Don't listen to them... The narrator is great

Awesome story! Yes the narrator is different from the rest of the books but after an hour or so I was engrossed in the story!

Good entertainment

I enjoy frivolous fiction, it provides a brief escape, and as such this book was very entertaining .

A Sad Tale, But Fitting and Well Worth the Read

As foreshadowed in the last book, the world changes. Drizzt and the reader loses people that have traveled with them thru 22 books. While bittersweet, it is an excellent addition to the series.

Better than what people say

Many people berate this audio series of all three books. Mainly due to the different reader. They talk of how boring he sounds, or how he pronounces things wrong, or how he changes how characters sound. In all honesty, after the first half of the first book you not only get used to it but I got INTO it.

He actually tries more than two voices for each race. He adds inflections and twists to bits of words here and there. Sure he doesn’t always pronounce things the same but… so what it’s not like we don’t understand it. And there is no definite pronunciations for most of the words anyway. He says Pickle wrong that’s true but still… get over it. By the end of this journey I felt the wonder of adventurer and fun that Mark brought to life. Good job Mark, and thanks for doing your best to the changes for 4th edition R.A. Salvatore. He’ll bring it back don’t worry :)

Good story. Many, Many References To Previous Book

You should try to find and follow the release dates of the books; otherwise you will not understand the references to the past.
Good imagination, good action, good magic.
The dialogue was well presented; not too dramatic, not too bland.

Excellent story!

Loved this book! 4 stars for performance because this trilogy the narrator was switched from the original narrator for all the others. it was hard to get used to different pronunciations and accents by a new author.
But the story line was really good

the ending was beautiful but extremely sad.

another masterpiece, I just wish the new reader would have taken some time to learn how the previous reader who had done 30 plus books had pronounced certain names.
