Publisher's summary

Salt-crusted veterans whisper of an island of swirling black fog that manifests in the night. Ships that sail into it are never seen again. One of those ships carried a mysterious relic that cannot be allowed to remain lost.

The Dungeoneers take to the high seas to do what has never been done before - sail into the fog and return to tell the tale.

Pirates, sea monsters, smugglers, merfolk and slithery tentacle things with pointy bits stand between the dwarves and the most dangerous challenge they've ever faced.

Still entertaining, as the first one was.

It's not quit as funny as the first one, but it is still chuckle worthy. I love this odd ball band of characters and their inventive ways of dealing with dire 'things'. The narrator does well on the voices also, imo.

Fun!

Any additional comments?

It's simple really, this book is just fun.

The short of it is that if you liked the first book, then this one is just as good albeit more polished. The same group of characters are back plus a couple new and welcome additions. The focus this time is on some other characters than the first book, but that is fine as we are just here for witty dialogue and spoofs, right?

There isn't much more to tell. If you want a fun fantasy book that is a candy sweet treat, then this is the book for you.

Another great addition

I really enjoy the Dungeoneers story lines. They are engaging and funny. The story arcs have enough story to keep me interested, action to make it fun and humor to keep me chuckling. If you like gaming fun then this book is right for you. Bring on the next one!!

Another great adventure.

Great story of the dungeoneers on another quest. Faust Kells brings the story to life with his narration. Can't wait for book three

Fantastic 2nd entry in the series

The Dungeoneers return to duty and are taking on a seriously cool non-traditional dungeon. What we lose in amazing new dungeoneering tricks we gain in excellent and intriguing word building. I think I like this one even more than the first. The slightly reduced cast of dwarves helps us spend more time with the main players.

I enjoyed this sequel to the Dungeoneers.

I enjoyed this sequel to the Dungeoneers. Particularly the elf who was revealed to not be as shifty as intially thought and the belaggereed and bedraggled pirate captain whose parent is trying to kill him.

Slow DOWN!!!

What didn’t you like about Faust Kells’s performance?

Mr Kells REALLY needs to slow down. I felt that this production was rushed, and poorly produced. Too many times I became lost and and to back up over and over again, because of a disregard for punctuation. Pauses were too short or ignored all together. Transitions from one story arc to another came and went and I did not realize it had happened until I was asking myself Wait...where are we? What just happened! When the Reader slows down...(which happens occasionally) this story becomes truly enjoyable. But as it is...I feel like I cannot relax and enjoy this book because I am constantly having to keep up with the frantic pace of the Narrator.

Well read and well written

As good as the first book, as clever as it needs to be.character evolution is not really the point of the series. A collection of constants in an ever changing world dungeon.

The narrator needs to Slow Down!!!

I think Faust Kells is a good narrator and I really liked his work on the first book. I really like his different accents and he really works to make each character sound unique.

That being said, I found this book very hard to listen to. There were sections of the audiobook where is sounded like the narrator was reading it as fast as he could. There were sections of the audio where there were no pauses after a period or between paragraphs or changes in the POV characters. There were times I got totally lost because the POV had changed and since there was no pause, I didn't realize it. Sometimes it just sounded like one very long run-on sentence. It was just very hard to listen to and I was pretty disappointed. The audiobook could use a good re-edit just to add some pauses between sentences and POV changes.
