Publisher's Summary

The Trisolarian fleet has left their home world and will arrive in four centuries' time. But the Sophons and their extradimensional emissaries are already here. This is the motivation for the Wallfacer Project, a last-ditch defence that grants four individuals almost absolute power to design secret strategies, hidden through deceit and misdirection.

Luo Ji, an unambitious Chinese astronomer, is baffled by his new status. All he knows is that he's the one Wallfacer that Trisolaris wants dead.

A great piece of work that forces you to reflect about humanity, science, space and all of it.

"An epic which reflects the humanity "

Liu Cixin has a theory on cosmic-sociology, which cover military, history, economy and technology, and may be the greatest threat to humanity.

    "Brain candy"

This book is as good as previous of the trilogy, full of ideas to think of, but also with a good story flow. Highly recommended.

"long winded but just about enjoyable"

took a while to get used to the new narrator, but he did a better job all told. pretty heavy going for me, but had to see where the story led.

    "huge, satisfying epic"

.. and this is only book two.! A real y satisfying piece of hard SF, bulging with original ideas. Arguably a bit slow in.places (the audio makes this worse) but ultimately building to an epic conclusion. The Chinese milieu is a refreshing change too. How on earth- or wherever- will this be topped in book3.? Give the author a Hugo already.

    "Very smart and consistently unpredictable"

This is what science fiction should be. I loved every chapter of it. Marvellous improvement over the previous book, which was already great. The characters are much more well-written, the plot constantly keeps you on the edge, the scale progressively gets more enormous.

The narration is top-notch. Would absolutely recommend.

"Interesting sci-fi from a Chinese author."

I thoroughly enjoyed this sci-fi from a different culture. It brought a different angle to the genre, for me. My only difficulty was remembering the different character's names. I managed to follow the storyline well enough.
Bruno Roubicek's narration was excellent, minimising my inability with the names.
I will listen to the others in this trilogy, but don't understand why the first book has been unavailable to listen to almost since I came across it. Hopefully this will be corrected soon, and certainly before the third book is released to listen to.

"Great story, didn't rate the reader. "

Very enjoyable although I would have much preferred Luke Daniels (reader of the first book in the series) to read this one. I found this reader to be a monotonous, Luke bought the first book to life!

Ein hervorragender Abschluss der Geschichte! Science Fiction, aber auch mehr! Mich begeistert es, wenn ein Autor unerwartete Aspekte und Wendungen enthüllt.

    "slow start.and poor narration."

the narrator cadence is very off putting. spoils what is quite a good story. series was available with a different narrator but I guess due to geographic licencing restrictions we are stuck with an interior narrator.
