Publisher's Summary

The next super hero book installment of the Dark Spores series from award-winning author Braxton A. Cosby.

In a city of masked heroes, darkness hides the truth! A world mourning a fallen superhero.

Future Chicago has become the haven for criminals and super villains of the darkest order. When an experiment goes wrong, hundreds of humans (Normals) absorb a mysterious contagion that gives rise to amazing super powers, creating a new species: Super-Normals. Some use their super powers for good, while others use their gifts for evil.

Wars break out across the city, and it's Good versus Evil in a grudge match to destroy the other. A nightly reality show featuring both sides' daily endeavors to create interest, captures the attention of the entire planet and Heroes are worshiped, given any and everything they desire. But there are rules to living the good life, and when one Hero breaks the ultimate rule and kills a Normal, a manhunt erupts, pitting Heroes, Villains, and the entire police force against one another in a race to capture or kill the fallen superhero. But one lone rebel emerges, hellbent on solving the murder and unraveling the secret of the Dark Spores. Yet, in the process, one question remains: Will he choose the dark or light side?

Good Vs Evil

You would like this if you like comic books or super heros.
The book was not so bad but I found it to be predictable, however, the author puts his own take on super heros which I found different and I really liked the idea.

Decent story but poor audio quality

I was given this free review copy audio book at my request and have voluntarily left this review.

I picked this one up because I enjoyed Majesties of Canaan: The Goliath Project by Chayil Champion. This one is written by Braxton Crosby. It seems that this is a "universe" that multiple authors are writing stories in. Still haven't figured out which book is the first one... though I guess it doesn't really matter. Anyway, the story itself is pretty good, but the audio quality of the narration is terrible. I had a difficult time staying engaged in the story because the echol drove me nuts. I would recommend reading this one instead of listening to it. At least until the audio gets cleaned up.

Solid finish...

The Cape is a story of good vs evil... It's about getting corporate sponsorship along w/an advertising deal... but the cost of that may be to say goodbye to your private life. I felt that this novella had a sloppy start, but a pretty solid finish, and that's possibly because it's book 3 in the series, and I was slow at catching on, or maybe the author actually improved as the book progressed...
I think that Braxton Cosby would be better off working on his writing, and finding a good narrator instead of trying to do both things himself...
This is a shared universe with several authors writing their own stories and loosely tying the story arc's to the others work...

recording was terrible.

I recieved this book free of charge for an honest review. I listened to another of the series and enjoyed it. this one I tried to listen to but I couldn't, initially I thought it was a problem on my end with the playback but after switching between outputs I'm sure it's the recording. I'd love to listen to it. but it sounds like an old phonograph is playing it
