Publisher's summary

Ridge, Sardelle, and their comrades may have rescued Tolemek's sister and freed the dragon, but trouble awaits at home.

The king is missing, a secret organization is hunting sorcerers, and the capital is more vulnerable than ever to enemy attack. Worst of all, at least from Ridge's point of view, someone put that jackass Colonel Therrik in charge of the flier battalion.

Ridge and his allies have a lot of problems to fix, but they can't show their faces in the capital without being arrested or shot. This time it's going to take a lot more than magic to save the country.

ONE battle down

I am enjoying the DragonBlood series as a whole. This book seemed to have less content and moved much slower than the previous ones. I was also expecting to hear more about Tylee and the dragon, but didn't. On the plus side The battles were exciting and the light humor filled every page. We have been introduced to a new sorceress and sword, gotten rid of a few minor antagonists and learned more about our real enemy. I am looking forward to see how all the loose ends wind into the next book. I am enjoy Caitlin Davies various voices that make the story live.

I liked it

it did drag a bit in places but that is inevitable in 5th book but once it ramped up it went almost too fast. there are some loose ends I hope get tied in the next book. this is candy, not filling or good for me but I do enjoy

Great Story, Title doesn't make sense.

I'm a huge fan of this story! The only hwadscratcher is how the titles don't match the book at all.

The blades memory.... I mean, there are some moments where her memory fails her? But this isn't the key point of this book.

I'm loving this series.

A nice little escape to different time and place. I have enjoyed the connection between the main characters and the development of each.

Another fun adventure

This book is full of political machinations being uncovered by the brave team of flyers while they try not to be discovered in the capital. Lots of magic and action
