Publisher's summary

All across the world, people suddenly vanish in the blink of an eye. From their cars during the rush hour commute. From shopping malls. Their homes. Their beds. Even from the arms of their loved ones. Airline pilots. World leaders. Teachers. Parents. Children. Gone.

Steve, Charlie, and Frank were just trying to get home when it happened. Now they find themselves left behind and wishing they'd disappeared, too. Trapped in the ultimate traffic jam, they watch as civilization collapses, claiming the souls of those around them. God has called his faithful home, but the invitations for Steve, Charlie, and Frank got lost. Now they must set off on foot through a nightmarish postapocalyptic landscape in search of answers. In search of God. In search of their loved ones. And in search of home.

Williamson and Keene are a dynamic duo

This book is among the best Keene has written. Emotional, great fleshed out characters and a gripping storyline punctuated with violence and traces of spirituality.

Uh Oh, Did We Leave Somebody Behind Again?

OK, most times Imma gonna preach to you that Brian Keene is a hard core mad dog when it comes to horror. He makes King look like a second-grader telling stories to first-graders in the dark. So, it pains me to say that this isn't innovative or original. That's not to say its bad, its not, but it's short and really has no impact. So, unless you dig Keene and are a fan of the Left Behind stuff there isn't a lot to draw you in. That said the story has legs, it just wasn't given the time to flesh it out like it deserves.

That said, Chet Williamson brings the booze to the party. He's what makes it fun. He does a great job.

Take the long way home

This was an excellent story on the line that the 'rapture' happens for real'.A trumpet sounds and people dissapear.Crashes of all kinds happen. All Stephen wants is to get back to P.A. and his wife.Civilization devolves fast.A really good story.Chet Williamson was a terrific narrator.I was given this free review copy audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this review.'

Pretty good short story

I enjoyed this audiobook. I like Brian Keene's writing style and Chet Williamson's narration. I've never read any stories about the rapture before and I enjoyed this one, too bad it was so short.

Um

What about all of the Muslim nations Saudi Arabia, Iran, etc. and that Buddhist and Hindus that gang right there makes up a lot of people, so why wouldn’t they just come and take over the United States land and other Christian countries just saying… It’s an interesting story the rapture but it’s so filled with plausibility‘s that I can’t get along with it

Reminds of Left Behind Series but with different angle

I liked that it held my interest right away. I am a believer but shy away from organized religion. Great story. I hope he writes sequels.

Just wow, very few books that are this short leave me with a book hangover. This got to me though.

Nice short intense book.

I read this years ago, but I like the audible version better. This is a very intense book that has pepple disappearing, changing and just trying to get home.
