Publisher's Summary

Georgina Kincaid has formidable powers. Immortality, seduction, shape-shifting into any human form she desires, walking in heels that would cripple mere mortals - all child's play to a succubus like her. Helping to plan her ex-boyfriend's wedding is a different story. Georgina isn't sure which is worse--that Seth is marrying another woman, or that Georgina has to run all over Seattle trying on bridesmaid dresses.

Still, there are distractions. Georgina's roommate, Roman, is cluttering her apartment with sexual tension. Then there's Simone, the new succubus in town, who's intent on corrupting Seth. But the real danger lies in the mysterious force that's visiting her thoughts, trying to draw her into a dark, otherworldly realm. Sooner or later, Georgina knows she'll be too weak to resist. And when that happens, she'll discover who she can trust, who she can't - and that Hell is far from the worst place to spend eternity.

Spend some more time with Georgina Kincaid...if you dare.

Didn't want it to end!

I can't believe I have to wait until at least September for the sixth book. And then, that will be the last one!

This series is SO GOOD that I had to write to the author on her website. I am totally out of the demographics of these books---I am not a teenager or a young person---but I loved them all. Besides, I think they might be for adults anyway---the sex is totally out there and hot.

The narrator, Elisabeth Rodgers, is terrific throughout. I can really hear Georgina's character.

I have been so involved in the relationship between Seth and Georgina, that at one point while listening, I started yelling "No, stop it!" I won't say where that was because I don't want to give any spoilers, but suffice it to say, I was seriously involved.

These books may not be grand literature, but they are wonderful, indeed.

Another wonderful book, in a GREAT series

Fans of Richelle Mead's works, will not be disappointed in her lastest book, "Succubus Shadows".
She has worked her magic again. We are invited into a world where demons, vampires, angels, and our favorite succubus, Georgina, live.

Having read all the books in this series. (this is the 5th book, in a 6 book series) I can say that I enjoyed each book. Although, it is not always an easy read. Ms. Mead does such a great job with her characters, that you really learn to care for them. And just like in real life, her characters don't always make the best choices. Thus, I sometimes found myself emotional drained. But, I believe in the end, it is all worth it.

I would highly recommend "Succubus Shadows"!

Thank you, Audible Frontiers!

Waiting for the next book

I went on a reading/listening binge and finished all that was published on this series these past few days. Kind of sad that there is no more to read....until Sept.

Good bits.
Tender Roman (cannot help but wonder if he has any ulterior motive)
Carter in cahoots with the gang
More interesting background story

So so bits.
Come on how come NOBODY notices that Roman is a Nephilim?
THe villans who were so hard to find but too easy to destroy

Although I enjoyed knowing more about Georgina's back story, I did get tired of the endless torture. I was glad as she was when she was rescued. This going back to the past thing throughout the series reminds me of Highliander and Foreverknight, and interesting.

I think either Seth is Georgina's husband's and/or all of her mortal lovers' reincarnation or something.. I mean I think they are something like truly desitnate/united lovers that nothing can separte them even in the dream world. And their outcome is a great interest to both sides. Now I hear the next book is the last book and I look forward for the whole revelation.

Sad I am almost to the end....great series!

Would you consider the audio edition of Succubus Shadows to be better than the print version?

Well yes....why read it when you can listen to it and have it so brilliantly acted out for you...

What was one of the most memorable moments of Succubus Shadows?

When she first gets kidnapped and dreams about her husband, and they turn it into a nightmare...I felt so bad for her...

What about Elisabeth Rodgers’s performance did you like?

I love her narration skills, she is the perfect Georgina!

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

I did from hour 3 I was supposed to be in bed over 2 hours ago...I just could not put her down.....

Any additional comments?

Moving on to the last in the series now, both sad and excited to hear how this ends...Excellent Series, I HIGHLY recommend!!!

Disappointing book of filler

I've had some fun with this series, but this book isn't one of them. It's boring basically. There's some plot development, but it's all at the beginning and the end. the middle 80% is boring, and Georgina becomes so emotionally draining it made for an unpleasant listen. The dream sequences were disjointed and uninteresting, my wife and I couldn't wait for them to end. I'm not sure how book six works out but, I think this would have been better off as a five book series.

Elisabeth Rodgers felt unusually flat in her performance this time around. Maybe she was bored like we were, but it felt phoned in.

I don't hate this book, but it's 80% boring filler and 20% interesting content. Filler is good, but this dragged on way too long. I think I would have cut this chapter out completely and combined it into book four and 6 making it a five book series. She could have left book 4 end on a cliffhanger and used 6 to wrap the story up.

Getting tired of gk's behavior

As many people have said this book gets a little dull. That, however, didn't bother me as much as Georgina's behavior and attitude toward her friends. I'm finding it harder and harder to like her and Seth as main characters because... Well... They're just becoming so self-absorbed in themselves and each other that they're unpleasant. When I began the series I liked Georgina enough to want her as a type of friend, but now I just think she's kind of annoying and selfish.

Not my fave in series but still worth the listen

I’ve got to say that Succubus Shadows is my least favorite in the Georgina Kincaid series. WHY? Because there is still too much back and forth with Georgina and Seth. Seth needs to man up and be with Georgina and cut Maddie loose or stay away from Georgina. I’ve never really been a 100% on board with Seth as the main love interest and now that Roman is back I find myself rooting for him.

Don’t get me wrong I still enjoyed Succubus Shadows and can’t wait to listen to the last book in the series, Succubus Revealed but a part of me just want’s the series over so that Georgina can get a HEA (and she better!).

Much like other books in the series we get some flashbacks on Georgina’s life as a human and her early days as a succubus. I liked seeing them but at the same time I thought she’s made the same mistakes over and over when it comes to men. You think she would have learned by now. But that’s also some of Georgina’s charm. She has not let the fact that she serves on Hell’s side jade her. She still tries to hang on to her humanity and is a romantic softy at heart. It’s not easy being a succubus forced to sleep with countless men to stay alive when all she wants is a love of her own.

Richelle Mead has done an excellent job of slowly weaving a complex overall arc to series that looks like it will have a big pay off for Georgina. She’s given us bread crumbs and now has finally given us a big chunk of that loaf of bread at the end of Succubus Shadows, one that I didn’t see coming.

Succubus Shadows was very dark in the emotional department and I’m hoping for a ray of sunshine in Georgina’s ending but I have a feeling that she will have to go through a little more heartache to get there.

I love Georgina

Georgina is a great character. She is realistic, flawed, vulnerable, brave and loyal. She struggles through difficult situations and never gives up. This is a great book and Georgina is a great character. This is well worth a credit.
