Publisher's summary

The Hundred Worlds have withstood invasion by the relentless Hok for decades. The human worlds are strong, but the Hok have the resources of a thousand planets behind them, and their fleets attack in endless waves.

The long war has transformed the Hundred Worlds into heavily fortified star systems. Their economies are geared for military output, and they raise specialized soldiers to save our species. Assault Captain Derek Straker is one such man among many. Genetically sculpted to drive a mech-suit as if he wears a second skin, he must find a path to victory. It's a battle in which he'll never admit defeat, but not even Straker knows the dark truth behind this titanic struggle. With Lieutenant Carla Engels piloting, Starship Liberator explores enemy territory in search of answers.

A bit of a let down...

Would you recommend this book to a friend? Why or why not?

Only if they are interested in a large dose of feelings, political rants, and some good battle scenes. Book really has a large extremely large dose of why, whining, and over winded pompous stances on morality.

Has Starship Liberator turned you off from other books in this genre?

Yes need ones with less discussion of feelings...

Was Starship Liberator worth the listening time?

no not really. Completed it but was waiting for the end to come. Fast forwarded through whole chapters...didn't miss a thing either.

One of Larsons finest books yet!

Thoroughly loved it! Excellent narration as well. I lived vicariously through the main character throughout the book.

So many different pronunciations of the same name.

If there are any other ways to pronounce "Striker" I can't think of them. It's not the narrators fault as far as I can tell since they use it to rhyme with different words throughout the story. The story was disjointed and plodding to start, not up to B.V. Larson's usual standard. This was a very mediocre book that struggled to keep my interest. Your mileage may vary.

Really like it

Mark is great narrator and story teller. Like other reviews this is space war epic. Unlike other war epic, the character development and details has real meat. Plus I really enjoy the triad conflict that is defining foundation of the story.

Good storyline and great performance!!

I listened to a lot of audio books and this one is definitely going to be a great series from both a story perspective as well as performance quality. Wide range of characters all performed very well.
