Publisher's summary

There’s something out there: A juggernaut of evil bearing down to crush the Republic - unless one lone Jedi, shunned and reviled, can stop it.

Revan: Hero, traitor, conqueror, villain, savior. A Jedi who left Coruscant to defeat Mandalorians - and returned a disciple of the dark side, bent on destroying the Republic. The Jedi Council gave Revan his life back, but the price of redemption was high. His memories have been erased. All that’s left are nightmares - and deep, abiding fear.

What exactly happened beyond the Outer Rim? Revan can’t quite remember, yet can’t entirely forget. Somehow he stumbled across a terrible secret that threatens the very existence of the Republic. With no idea what it is, or how to stop it, Revan may very well fail, for he’s never faced a more powerful and diabolic enemy. But only death can stop him from trying.

Best in Series

What made the experience of listening to Star Wars: The Old Republic: Revan the most enjoyable?

This could be my favorite SW novel out of them all. Especially after playing KOTOR it's so great to hear the continuation of the story before the SWTOR timeline.

Who was your favorite character and why?

Revan. Come on.

Have you listened to any of Marc Thompson’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

I've heard a few and I like him. He definitely made this one enjoyable.

Any additional comments?

Best one in this Old Republic series by far. That's coming from someone who enjoyed the other three as well

better than a movie,

loved it and was sad when it was over.. laughable when he does female voices and pronounces ebon-hawk as e-bone hawk.

A frustrating read for true Kotor fans.

If you are a huge fan of both Kotor games then this is an interesting read as it fills the gaps between both stories and after the events of kotor 2. As for the story itself, the first half is a bit slow and challenging to get through. A lot of dialogue and basically set up for the real story which is the second half. Overall I thought the new characters were really interesting and engaging, but if you are a real fan of both Kotor games then you will be extremely disappointed in the ending as it does no Justice to the fates of Revan and The Exile Meetra Surik. Their fates are completely out of character and a cop out to tie into the Mmo the old republic. I don't accept what the characters fates and I am hopeful for a redemption of that in Kotor 3 if it ever gets made which is close to impossible now. But I love these characters this universe and story and the ending of this book butchers that. The Kotor games are my favorite star wars games ever. I will keep my eyes on a new hope, and as many have said the future is always in motion. May the force be with you.

KOTOR Fans rejoice!

Where does Star Wars: The Old Republic: Revan rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

This is by far one of my favorite audio books. I love the sounds effects that all Star Wars audio books incorporate into the story telling. You can hear the lightsabers turning on, droids beeping/whistling, etc...

What was one of the most memorable moments of Star Wars: The Old Republic: Revan?

Discovering who Revan was married to.

Which scene was your favorite?

When they tied together both of the KOTOR video games into the story.

Any additional comments?

If you loved the KOTOR video games, then this is what we have been waiting for.... closure WRT Revan's and the Exile's stories.

The internal struggle between light and dark within Revan

Starts Slow

I had a tough time getting into this book because it starts off kind of slow. I am still not sure why Revan and Candoros went on the first part of the quest together, as it never really comes back to anything later in the book.
I would also recommend that anyone interested in this book play KOTOR I and II prior to reading this book. There are a lot of things that likely will not make sense if you have not.

The reader is amazing. I love the way he did the voices, as well as put emotion into the book.
