Publisher's summary

Two years have passed since Jacen Solo, seduced by the dark side and re-anointed as the brutal Sith Lord Darth Cadeus, died at the hands of his twin sister, Jaina, Sword of the Jedi. For a grieving Han and Leia, the shadow of their son's tragic downfall still looms large.

But Jacen's own bright and loving daughter, Allana, offers a ray of hope for the future as she thrives in her grandparents' care. And when the eager, inquisitive girl, in whom the Force grows ever stronger, makes a curious discovery aboard her grandfather's beloved spacecraft—the much overhauled but ever-dependable Millennium Falcon—the Solo family finds itself at a new turning point.

Together they must set out on an odyssey into uncertain territory, untold adventure, and unexpected rewards.

Star Wars: Millennium Falcon

Marc Thompson is great as always. I could listen to this guy read the back of my cereal box. As for the story. Come aboard for the journey, not the destination. Resign yourself to being content with the disjointed meanderings of the author. The conclusion, much like this review, is lack luster. Still, beats the heck out of listening to some blow hard disk jockey during the commute.

Thank you - finally - for unabridged versions

It so wonderful to see an unabridged version of a Star Wars story! Keep it coming Random House

I loved the story - it was a softer, regrouping after the last series and the characters that we meet as we trace the Millennium Falcon's past are as unique and varied as the ship itself - I can see many of these characters popping up in future stories!

Punch it Chewie!

Great addition to the Star Wars collection. This book puts you in the Millennium falcon and paints a picture that fits perfect with the Star Wars universe. And its unabridged which makes it that much better. I would reccommend this book to any Star Wars fan.

Audio was fragmented

On 4 separate occasions, the story skipped like a scratched CD. I missed big chunks of the book. Please fix so other people don't waste their money.

Cool history of the Falcon w/future of the Solos

First off if you have been downloading the abridged books, this one's pace may seem to lag at times. There is a lot of background information, and two story line going on at the same time. I agree with others that the climax is a bit of a let down, but the book ties great into the Fate of the Jedi series. In fact I suggest you listen or read this one before moving on to the Fate of the Jedi. Over all the negatives weren't enough to keep me from enjoying this novel.

Taste Great...Not Very Filling

Would you try another book from James Luceno and/or Marc Thompson?

James Luceno writes great Star Wars novels and Marc Thompson is by far the best narrator for turning the readings into a movie-like experience. This book managed to be entertaining yet somehow unsatisfying. It's depth of plot is comparable to the 1978 Star Wars Holiday Special.

What could James Luceno have done to make this a more enjoyable book for you?

Although enjoyable to listen to, the storyline was shallow compared to the other novels and series.

If this book were a movie would you go see it?

No

Any additional comments?

Much like cotton candy, this story was tasty and fun to ingest but not very filling. Die-hard fans may have a hard time taking it seriously.

Great listen!

I got the hard cover version of this book for Christmas and I just haven't had the time to pick it up over the last five months. Audible and an mp3 player finally made it possible to enjoy it.

This was my first audio book. My biggest concern was narration but Marc Thompson was fantastic and brought great energy to the story. My only experience with Star Wars was the movies and a couple of games. I was aware of the back story but this was my first experience with it as well. While this is a great listen I found myself wondering what happened, how did they get here, to this point I mean. Made me do a little research, only to find out that there are a lot more books to listen to if I want to find out. All in all a fun listen though. Enjoy!

Good history!

This book is a must read for any Han Solo/Falcon fan. The hunt was really cool.
One downside was the trouble that they were getting into with the gray jedi, was not explained well enough or expounded upon enough.
Also, the back stories of some of the former owners of the Falcon were very long & tiring.
