Publisher's summary

In a stunning turn of events, Luke Skywalker and his son, Ben, joined forces with members of the Sith armada sent to kill them - and turned their combined might against the monstrous being Abeloth. But with Abeloth gone, the Sith reverted to form, making a treacherous attempt on Luke's life.

Luke and Ben have no time for retaliation. A new and even more insidious threat is rising. Unless the Skywalkers survive to sound the alarm, the galaxy will suffer as it has never suffered before. But the reinforcements they need remain grounded on Coruscant, where the political battle of wills between the Jedi Council and Galactic Alliance Chief of State Natasi Daala has reached a boiling point.

Now Luke and Ben must go on the run, taking along the inscrutable - and dangerous - Sith apprentice Vestara Khai. With a host of Sith warriors in hot pursuit, the Skywalkers soon find themselves trapped on the moon Pydyr, caught between their former allies and a mob of angry Fallanassi. A new truce may be their only hope.

Another great book

loved it and all the other books in the series. Great characters, fantastic reading and the music and sounds just tie it all together.

Story is very choppy and disjointed

It almost seems like two different authors wrote this book and this makes the story suffer and character development is just gone in this book or to be more specific dozens of other books character growths where simply ignored and no one acts in character and I felt more like I was listening to a fan fiction than a professionally written novel.

A Solid Continuation with Cliffhanger

What did you love best about Star Wars: Fate of the Jedi: Vortex?

The performance was excellent as usual with Marc Thompson. Marc really captures the majority of the major canon characters like Han, Luke and what not. The added sound effects really set the mood and the story was a good continuation of the series. Several well placed cliffhangers.

Any additional comments?

Ok, Mr. Denning needs to find another adjective or descriptive verb other than "Furrowed Brow" almost every time a character is emoting something they are doing Furrowed Brow" One author in this series is obsessed with "cafe" which seems to be in every scene involving an object... Mr. Denning on the other hand over uses Furrowed Brow to emote and wow does it get distracting. Leia turned too look at Han and (GUESS WHAT SHE IS GOING TO DO ! YEP THATS RIGHT FURROWING HER BROW"

Another Great Star Wars installment!

We continue the Fate of the Jedi story that is blossoming in this chapter of the series. I loved just about every second of the book. Marc Thompson is a genius and this story give a him pls the of room for yet another vocal tour we force.

on the critique-side, there is only the slightest bit of waffling in characterizations (people say things that are out of character or too much in line with the narrator) and there are a few minor errors.

Definitely worth the time and money!!

Vanilla

I like the audio productions of these books because they add a little something. The stories are so tightly contolled that there is never any real risk involved, so hearing a production helps immensely. Of course, the biggest problem is the protrayal of Lando. Um, has the performer never seen the movies? When did Lando become a Texan?

More of the same.

The only fault I can find with this book is the Villian is not very menacing. Wouldn't mind a fresher story, but still a good Star Wars novel.
