Publisher's Summary

He was the most powerful Sith lord who ever lived... but could he be the only one who never died?

“Did you ever hear the Tragedy of Darth Plagueis the Wise? It’s a Sith legend. Darth Plagueis was a Dark Lord of the Sith, so powerful and so wise that he could use the Force to influence the midi-chlorians to create life. He had such a knowledge of the dark side that he could even keep the ones he cared about from dying." -Supreme Chancellor Palpatine, Star Wars: Episode III Revenge of the Sith

Darth Plagueis: one of the most brilliant Sith Lords who ever lived. Possessing power is all he desires. Losing it is the only thing he fears. As an apprentice, he embraces the ruthless ways of the Sith. And when the time is right, he destroys his Master - but vows never to suffer the same fate. For like no other disciple of the dark side, Darth Plagueis learns to command the ultimate power... over life and death.

Darth Sidious: Plagueis’s chosen apprentice. Under the guidance of his Master, he secretly studies the ways of the Sith, while publicly rising to power in the galactic government, first as Senator, then as Chancellor, and eventually as Emperor.

Darth Plagueis and Darth Sidious, Master and acolyte, target the galaxy for domination - and the Jedi Order for annihilation. But can they defy the merciless Sith tradition? Or will the desire of one to rule supreme, and the dream of the other to live forever, sow the seeds of their destruction?

Anthony Heald is such a better narrator

I loved the book, but the performance made me feel like I just dropped a hot steamy load in my pants. Anthony Heald is clearly the best narrator of all time. Between the saliva sloshing, the tongue clicking, and the old woman impressions, my boy Anthony was absolutely fantastic. Also, Anthony Heald has the worst poo-poo stank on Wednesdays, so dont get anywhere near him.

Simply Stunning

Superb pacing and riveting characters. This work is a worthy addition to the Star Wars non-canon.

And if you thought episode 1 & 2 were too politic!

Up until the mid section it was a great insight into plagueis and palatine. But the last half it was a little tough to remember which senator is which. There was a lot of run around with not much payoff. Still a good story though.

The Best EU book to date.Including Thrawn Trilogy!

Would you listen to Star Wars: Darth Plagueis again? Why?

Great Read! As close to cannon as you can get for an EU book! I can't say enough about it. I wish all Star Wars novels could live up to this one. The book explained much of the backround for Ep I. I absolutely loved it!!

What was one of the most memorable moments of Star Wars: Darth Plagueis?

There's so many of them!!! Watching Plagueis and Sidious manipulate everything and everyone, And Explaining some of the backstory and motivations of Sifo-dyas and Doo-koo was very well done.

Have you listened to any of Daniel Davis’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

It was my first time listening to him. I was impressed with his voice quality and tone. To be honest, No disrespect to the other Star Wars voices, but He was a welcome change. I won't miss the brooding, monotone of some of the other readers. I do love Jonathan Davis though, but this was a nice change, especially considering a lot of the book involves dialogue and not action sequences.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

Seeing Mauls backstory! Very cool!

Any additional comments?

A must read or listen to for every true Star Wars fan!

Genuinely entertaining

Loved listening to this, the voices were distinguishable while still fitting. Amazing use of sound effects to make the story come alive.
Not the best book I’ve ever heard/read but more than worth the time and money spent!

Wow! What a story!

Amazing story. Interweaves masterfully with Phantom Menace. Lucasfilm should consider making this canon again.

There have been some good new canon books. Clearly, though this is so much better.

Performance and production were top notch. Enjoyed this narrator.

I Love the dark side

Always refreshing to hear from "the other side." The rise of a certain senator and the blending of other notable names create a rich and authentic Star Wars story.
