New Series, Good Start

An urban fantasy, heavy on the magic/ wizards with some police procedural thrown in. I enjoyed the story and the characters. Look forward to the next book in the series.

Narrator was great. All in all I was pleasantly surprised!

Very good.

A perfect blend of story and narrator. So many times the right narrator can elevate a story from merely entertaining to really great or on the other hand a mediocre narrator can also make the story mediocre. Bronson does a great job despite a very few mispronunciations of southwestern places. My first David b Coe story, I could not stop listening. I found I really liked the characters which is most important to me. I will be listening again! Hoping for more!

Awesome

The bout between he and Red was awesome! My anger at Billy vanished when she came back to Justis. Red vs. Blue idea was clever. Reading on!

Really different

Would you consider the audio edition of Spell Blind to be better than the print version?

I'm not a huge sci-fi fan, but this was a really good one. Listened start to finish in one day.

Love the story, but the reader sounds too old

The voice sounds like the voice of a much older man. When I started listening, I assumed the main character was in his late 50's/early 60's due to the voice. I had a hard time re-thinking it when it came out that he's 30 something. The story is good, so I'll buy the next one in the series, but consider getting a different reader for upcoming books in the series.

Mixed feelings.

It was an interesting story. I agree with other reviewers that this is a Harry Dresden clone. The thing is, I've never felt a need to skip to the end with Dresden. I skipped the last three hours of Spell Blind and don't feel like I missed anything. Finding the protagonist at the scene of the crime being questioned by police is not unusual in this genre. Finding it happening over and over and over without so much as a slap on the wrist, gets old fast.

It's not a bad book. It just needs a bit of editing so it doesn't drag.

Police, Magic, were beasts.

Story: A light story which was well put together and kept my interest alive throughout.
Narration: Done well.

Would consider other books from this series/author based on this work.

Slow but really good

it started slow but then it pick up and a great finish. i will be starting the second book soon cant wait

I like the new twist on magic in the current world. This is not a teenage were-critter love story.. I think this series has potential.

Brave and Kind Hero; Great Narrator

I LIKED it! The story was interesting and moved at a good pace. The hero was brave and kind. The narrator, Bronson, was exceptional as always!

Was the book wildly exciting? No. That is okay! really! Today, I wasn't looking for exciting. I just needed a good, solid storyline. I needed a hero who was a sweet, brave guy in a good sci-fi story that didn't have a lot of gore in the fight scenes. This book delivered.

I LIKED this book. I was smiling and happy at the ending and am purchasing the next one in the series because I want to know what happens to the main character. Then I am going to listen to all the rest of this author's books, if they are performed by Bronson.
