Publisher's summary

Troubles and delays continue to mount as King Garion, Belgarath, Polgara, and the company pursue Zandramas across the known world. Possessed by the Dark Destiny, Zandramas has kidnapped Garion's infant son and plans to use him in a ritual that would destroy all that men value. Always one step ahead, taunting and spying on Garion and his party in the form of a great flying dragon, Zandramas races to beat them to the "Place Which Is No More".

Desperate to arrive at the ancient ritual site at the same time, or face disaster, Garion and his friends must defend themselves against Zandramas' armies, led by the Demon Lord on one side of them, and the forces of Emperor Zakath on the other side. To make matters worse, they have no idea where to find the "Place Which Is No More".

Heartbreaking

This series gets more and more heartbreaking. Garon is to be sacrificed and turned into a horrible God. Its completely horrible. All the times Belgarion and Ce'Nedra are lured with images of their son. And it's getting closer and closer.

I do wonder though if Belgarion will ever be a disciple of Aldur. If he and Ce'Nedra will live for thousands of years.

Excellent story telling

Love the narrator’s creations of the characters voice and the story just flows and ebbs perfectly. True fantasy

Fantasy at its best

have read the series many times and listened to it a couple times. The narration is excellent one of the best Narrators I have ever listened to.

Just incredible story, well read.

David Eddings was an under appreciated author and the last two books of the Mallorean series truly signify his abilities. His stories are lighthearted, yet heartfelt, and exciting without the darkness that many modern authors inject into their work.

SoD showcases 9 books worth of character development to deliver a story that’s just fun to read or listen to over and over again.

Amazing book and series!

Love all of these books. The narrator is sometimes inconsistent with the character accents (some start out sounding almost German, then switch to English/Cockney; when 2 characters are speaking to each other, sometimes the narrator doesn’t switch accents until part-way into the second characters lines, etc.) It’s a little distracting, but the content is amazing: these are some of my favorite books, I’ve been re-reading them since I was a teen.

The Story continues

I found this a bit wittier than the other books, but the story still goes on, and I can't wait until I listen to the next (and last) book.
