After centuries of war an uneasy peace has finally been negotiated between elves, dwarves, and men, thanks to Elon of Aerilann, Elven councilor to the High King of Men. One final task remains, one last bone of contention - to set the boundaries between their lands. It's a task that will be easier said than done. Although all of the lesser Kings signed the Alliance, not all of them wish to see it succeed and some are willing to oppose it. Violently.
For journeyman wizard Jareth it's the opportunity of a lifetime.
What he doesn't know is that the journey will test him to his limits and forge a friendship that will last for centuries.
Elves were described as "calm and confident" in two successive sentences, and a third time in the same paragraph. all the good characters are painfully good.
I couldn't identify with or care about any of the characters, and I kept waiting for some tension/ plot. An off screen villain shoewd up in the final chapter.
Don't read this unless you already love the series; having read this, I have no desire to read the series.
