Publisher's Summary

SEAL Team Six meets Stephen King in this novel about an elite group of soldiers who protect the United States from supernatural threats.

Halfway through SEAL training, Cadet Jack Walker, still green but showing incredible promise, is whisked away to join four SEALs and their dog for a special-ops mission. Walker soon finds himself in a whirlwind of otherworldly creatures and events as he discovers the true nature of SEAL Team 666. Battling demons, possessed humans, mass-murdering cults, and evil in its darkest and most and ancient form, the members of SEAL Team 666 have their work cut out for them. And it’s not long before they realize that the threat isn’t directed against the US alone - an ancient and deadly cult has far bigger plans, and Walker is at the center of a supernatural conflict in which the entire world is at stake.

Weston Ochse won the Bram Stoker Award for his first novel, Scarecrow Gods, and was nominated for a Pushcart Prize for short fiction. He is a retired U.S. Army intelligence officer and currently works for the Defense Intelligence Agency.

Enjoyable way to spend some downtime.

The concept is great, the execution is just good. I was hoping for more but I would still recommend this for anyone looking for some fun escapist reading. Narration was very well done.

Brain candy

Where does SEAL Team 666 rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

It would rank somewhere in the middle of the pack.

If you’ve listened to books by Weston Ochse before, how does this one compare?

First one I have listened to.

Which scene was your favorite?

When it discussed how SOF forces think. It is quite close to the truth.

If you were to make a film of this book, what would be the tag line be?

There is always a more secret team.

Any additional comments?

None.

What a great surprise!

I was bit skeptical about this story of mixing military and magic. This one worked! Previous other authors have tried their hand at this genre and have left me bailing out after several chapters. Looking forward to the next one.

God awful book....

What could have made this a 4 or 5-star listening experience for you?

The story and characters are a bit too self rightgeous and self involved.

What could Weston Ochse have done to make this a more enjoyable book for you?

He could realize that we could respect the characters, what they do and what they represent without hitting us over the head with it over and over and over again. Secondarily, I wish some of these authors who write in this genre who easily embrace the existence and power of evil, ignore the possibility of good having some power. Lastly he could learn that the tired stereotypes of people ethnicity.

What about Paul Michael’s performance did you like?

Excellent voice and cadence. It is the only thing that allow me to finish the book.

What reaction did this book spark in you? Anger, sadness, disappointment?

Disappointment. It is a good premise and had promise, but it just went to the typical place instead of taking it somewhere new and fresh.

Any additional comments?

Don't know if this will be a series or not, but it won't be for me.

FUN LISTEN!

What did you love best about SEAL Team 666?

This was a well written, refreshingly different monster book. I thoroughly enjoyed it.

What other book might you compare SEAL Team 666 to and why?

It was really a bit of a Zero Dark Thirty / Seal Team Six (the movies) goes supernatural. Which was good because Lord knows Zero Dark Thirty could have used the help!

What does Paul Michael bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

He did a fine job. As long as he isn't terrible, that's all I ask.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

I did chuckle here and there, but nothing extreme.

Any additional comments?

A fun listen worth the time and credit, especially if you are looking for something different.

Great book.

In the future maybe when reading refer to the team as triple 6 instead of seal team 666 all the time and just call them radios not the full acronym. Other then that I enjoyed the book.
