Publisher's summary

The crew of a WWII destroyer face their greatest challenge yet as they try to survive in a strange new world in the next thrilling book in The New York Times best-selling series.

Commander Matt Reddy and his crew are afraid it may finally be the end of the USS Walker. Ever since their ship was transported to another world, and they became embroiled in a deadly conflict between the Lemurians and the vicious Grik, the Walker has been taking a pounding. With Walker out of commission for repairs, Reddy takes command of a different ship and joins a desperate battle to block the Grik swarm.

Meanwhile, the humans and their allies face a deadly second front in the Republic to the south. All of Reddy's forces are committed, and there's no turning back. Either they'll win - or lose - everything....

so it's the usual good story

I have some nit picks. if someone blinks disappointment, can we just assume it's in the Lemurian way? I'm glad some progress was made. And I enjoy the bad lizards growing intelligence. Can't wait for the final books in the series.

The story comes full swing

When we last left our human contingent, they had the enemy in a rout . Can they keep them contained before the swarm begins? It will be close as they are stretched around the globe in this similar but different earth.

Wonderful

I did all 13 twice and can’t wait for 14 and more. Presentation is beyond imagination if you didn’t know better you would believe there were one person doing each character! The characters themselves are super, I so wish I could live in their world, but it is fiction. My only complaint is I guess Taylor is attempting to make every book “stand alone” so for us true destroyer men, there is too much review. We know how we got here, just move forward!

I find this series incredible !

The details aren’t perfect yet . I find myself constantly pre ordering the next book and wishing that I had come across the completed series . Perhaps 30 books in all . There is something to say for anticipation .

Another exceptional Destroyermen book!!!

River of Bones was an exceptional addition to a great series of books. Taylor Anderson succeed in weaving another great tale. William Dufris continued to provide a great performance which truly brought the many and varied characters to life! I am sure I will listen to it again as I wait for the next Destroyermen!!!

This was a good book in the series

I would suggest this is not a stand alone book . The author has written 13 books in the series, I have listened to or read each one. I always look forward to the next volume. Be prepared for a long listen as this is a minute short of 18 hours. But the book lays out the problem from the beginning and slowly makes its way to the conclusion.
The characters have been in all 13 books and they continue to be just that characters that you have enjoyed in the past and continue to enjoy. The plot moves along at a good pace and at 18 hours does not seem too long.
I listen to books on a waterproof I pod and swim as I listen . I swim about 3 hours a week, so this book keep me going. In fact when I had an chance to pick up some extra time say on a small car ride the book went with me.
Well done. I cannot wait for the next volume to come out.
