Only a renegade will survive

Reckless, desperate, and distraught, Noa Sullivan leaps into a collapsing portal in the explosive finale of Shattered Blue - the jaw-dropping, award-winning first installment in The Light Trilogy - in wild hope of rescuing her little sister Sasha. Now Noa and the fae brothers who love her - Callum and Judah Forsythe - must find a way to survive not only across worlds but between them, in places so treacherous and deceptive their own minds are twisted against them. As the three fight to survive their passage, they battle not only enemies but themselves, and their darkest, most difficult secrets.

Surviving, however, is only the beginning: Noa needs to find Sasha. That means becoming a warrior herself, one just as fierce as the magical brothers battling for her love. Across broken cities, underground labyrinths, rushing floods and endless skies; in the face of legions of armies, horrifying tyrants, and the most deceitful of friends, can mortal Noa rescue her sister - and understand her own heart - in time to escape the most deadly of magic realms?

Not what I expected

The first book, the story is really good and the narration was exceptional so of course I was looking forward to book 2 with confidence that I wouldn’t be disappointed. I was sooo disappointed. It was hard to keep the story going fluidly when the narration was extremely awful. Sounded like she was in the bathroom, voice echoed, she would stop abruptly throughout, background noise, I could hear her turning the pages and the multiple airplanes flying overhead.
I don’t even know how it ended because she read through the credits and it sounded like she was still reading the story. 🙄

Decent author, decent book...terrible narrator.

I really enjoyed the first book and its narrator. I’m not sure why the author decided to attempt to narrate this one herself but it was a decidedly bad choice. The quality and editing was much less professional. There was an annoying tinny sound like she was recording it in her bathroom and I could sometimes hear background noises like pages turning, etc. The narration lacked subtly and nuance. There was very little differentiation of inflection or tone for the characters and for some reason it felt like she was urgently yelling every sentence at me the entire book.
I will read the next installment of the series when it comes out. If it is narrated by the author again, however, I will definitely not be listening to it.

Narration is terrible

Loved the narrator the first book. She was able to pull you into the story. This book feels like you are being read to. Not much change in characters voices and the reading feels rushed. I do not feel part of the story. Then to top off the poor reading it sounds like it was recorded in a bathroom. There is a echo to the sound. I really have enjoyed the story line between the two books. I just hope she will have the other narrator do her last book. I don't think I would spend the money again if it is like this one.

Phenomenal story & author narrated, LOVE it!

I absolutely adore these books! I specifically wanted to give the audiobook version a try because the author narrated herself which is such a cool bonus touch imo. Everything flowed well for me, good quality and truly added an extra element to the story to hear it read by the author...ESPECIALLY THE POETRY, which really came alive. Highly recommend checking this one out, The Light Trilogy will knock your socks off!
