Publisher's summary

You'd think that being chief seer for the supernatural world would come with a few perks. But as Cassie Palmer has learned, being Pythia doesn't mean that you don't have to do things the hard way. That's why she finds herself on a rescue mission skipping through time - even though she doesn't entirely understand her dimension-bending new power.

Rescuing her friend, John Pritkin, should have been an in-and-out kind of deal, but with the near-immortal mage's soul lost in time, Cassie has to hunt for it through the ages - with Pritkin's demon dad in tow. He's the only one who can reverse Pritkin's curse, but with the guardians of the timeline dead set on stopping anyone from mucking about, Cassie will have to figure out how to get her friend back without ruffling too many feathers - or causing a world-ending paradox or two.

great book. Distracting narrator.

I really enjoyed the book, but the narrator was not the best. she was overly dramatic at times, and her sentences had far too many inflections that were more distracting than communicative.

Reap the Wind

Enjoyed this book and enjoying Cassie evolving.
I too am frustrated with the narrators changing, although I prefer this one as opposed to the last. I'm reading the newest book now since it's not even on audible yet, even though I'd prefer listening to it.

eh?

I really like this world and the characters but I really felt like she left too much up in the air when she ended this book. I was kind of disappointed. It was fast paced but it didn't go anywhere. I usually love all her books but....this one was not my favorite.

Horrendous Narration

What didn’t you like about Jorjeana Marie’s performance?

I seriously keep thinking I should just return the book, and I'm barely even 6 chapter in. The narration is the one of the worst I've ever listened to. It's like the narrator has no idea what she's reading and is putting in zero effort. The tone has no bearing on the context of the story she's reading; if it's not a drone flat voice void of any inflection, it's an inappropriate type of inflection at exactly the wrong time that drains all the tension from the book.

It's a pity because the story is interesting, and I remember the previous narrator doing a great job. It's just such a chore to keep listening on and trying to ignore what a terrible job the narrator is doing.

I've never felt this strongly about an audiobook on audible to write a scathing review like this, but I absolutely hated this narration. Would have given it minus stars if I could. If I bought the kindle book and just had Alexa read it out loud to me I think she would do a better job.

In the end I gave it 4 stars.

Like so many others I struggled with the direction this book took us. I felt there was definitely a lot going on but it only took us a baby step forward then again it may be a baby step to the side. There was no progression to saving Pritkin or for Cassie's understanding of her powers. In the end I gave it a 4 because despite all of that Ms. Chance wrote well enough to keep me interested to the bitter end of this filler book and yes, I dutifully will await the next installment. As for the narrator change, as much as I love Ms. Holloway's narrating I found I was able to enjoy Ms. Marie's rendition just as well. There were a few words that each one pronounced differently which normally aggravates me but I found it was tolerable. I'm not sure if that's because I've waited 2 years for this book or not.

New narrator no bueno!

I love the Cassandra Palmer books and love following up reading them by listening to the audiobooks. I loved Alyson’s narrations. Then it changed to Jorgeana who was ok but this newest narrator is pretty horrible. It’s not Cassie’s voice all. It’s missing her sassy attitude and lacks oomph. The woman reading the story seems to just be reading line from line without any emotion. It’s Blah! Bring back Allyson Ryan!!!!!

Narrator is BORING!!!!!!!!

Would you listen to Reap the Wind again? Why?

Yes, but only if narrated by a different person. Jorjeana Marie is boring and very difficult to listen to for an expended period of time.

What was one of the most memorable moments of Reap the Wind?

When Cassie called out Perkin's name!

Would you be willing to try another one of Jorjeana Marie’s performances?

Never!

Dissapointed

The story is too long and repetitive. Tells same details over and over. Cassey acts like a not very smart girl most of the time. Unnecessary sex scenes that bore instead of entice. The whole story gave the impression that the author had tried to fill up pages with a short story. Had to put down the book many times for desinterest on my part. Hope next one is better, more like previous obes

Any of the old narrators would be better than this

I love these books. And truthfully, I wasn't thrilled with the first change in narrator. Or the next change, or the next. But if you're going to keep springing new narrators on us, would you at least insist that they listen to the previous books and learn how to pronounce things correctly? It's disappointing and distracting enough that I'm giving up on listening to these books, which were once among my favorites. Such a shame.
