Publisher's summary

Recalled from the Great Crusade after Ullanor, Rogal Dorn and the VIIth Legion were appointed as the Emperor's praetorians - but only after the Warmaster's treachery was revealed did the full extent of that sacred duty become apparent.

Now, the Solar System comes under attack for the first time since the war began, and many of the seemingly impregnable defences wrought by the Imperial Fists prove inadequate. With all eyes fixed firmly upon this new threat beyond the gates of Terra, who in turn will protect Dorn from the enemy within?

VII

I love the fists and I have a better appreciation for the Alpha legion now. I like how ambiguous the ending is.

Mystery Abounds

I'm just getting into 40k lore and story. This book was great. Amazing performance by Keeble, of course. The story was full of great twists and turns. With the Alpha Legion around, you can never calm down or get comfortable cause then, BAM, another awesome curve all is headed your way. Also, Dorm is actually likable here. Very nice. Read it.

Understanding tactics.

The story is well told but as with all these books, it is tactically silly.

One of Few Heresy Greats

This book ranks up there with Betrayer and The First Heretic.

Read if you like the Alpha Legion, Imperial Fists, or normal humans operators in the Grimdark

plenty of surprizes and lore

I enjoyed the characterization of the Primearks and their legionaries. The occasional diverging into the life of Arkamus provides some insight
into the life of an Imperial Fist

Heavy Bolter Porn with a Great Climax!

The story started off with a lot of descriptive description and not a lot of dialogue...but flourished into deep characters and relationships. Brilliant down to the very last word. Stay for the after credits.

Another great read!

Another great book in the Horus heresy series. Insight to the imperial fist as well as other legions.
