Publisher's summary

John Sandford and Michele Cook follow up their New York Times best-seller, Uncaged, with the next nail-biting installment in The Singular Menace series. Perfect for fans of The Maze Runner!

Shay Remby and her gang of renegades have struck a blow to the Singular Corporation. When they rescued Shay’s brother, Odin, from a secret Singular lab, they also liberated a girl. Singular has been experimenting on her, trying to implant a US senator’s memories into her brain - with partial success. Fenfang is now a girl who literally knows too much.

Can the knowledge brought by ex-captives Odin and Fenfang help Shay and her friends expose the crimes of this corrupt corporation? Singular has already killed one of Shay’s band to protect their secrets. How many more will die before the truth is exposed?

Implausible and sophomoric

I’ve enjoyed some of the “Prey” series. This was difficult to finish. The characters were unbelievable as was the situation. Some writers can make that work. These did not.

A VERY INTERESTING YOUNG ADULT STORY

What made the experience of listening to Outrage the most enjoyable?

I believe the narrator is very good. Her voice is young enough to make the characters believable. Although the book is written for and about teenagers, it's extremely well-written and can be enjoyed by anyone.

What other book might you compare Outrage to and why?

The first book in the series.

Have you listened to any of Tara Sands’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

Only on the first book.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Not particularly, but it was entertaining. This is not a John Sandford book. It's not even close to the type of books he writes. The writers should be listed as Michele Cook then John Sandford. You can find his fingerprints over the story, but I don't believe the story is his.

Always a fan…

I have been a John Sanford fan for a long time. I have half of his prey books amongst the other books don’t have to deal with Virgil. I find John Sanford’s books entertaining and as long as he writes them I will read them or listen to them

Whinny kids

I love John Sanford have read all his books. I listen to this on audio. The narrator makes it sound like a bunch of whinny kids in elementary school. She tries to change voices but that only makes it worse. Story was ok but completely unrealistic for children to do be doing all of this.

Great ongoing story

The story overrides the shrillness of all of the voices that the reader uses. If the story weren’t so compelling I would not be listening.

“Co-author” disappointment

My favorite author, John Sanford, has apparently joined the ranks of those who have decided to resort to the “co-author” device as a means to crank out books mass production style. A very inferior product results.

What was he thinking?

I love John Stanford’s books. Who wrote this trash? I would return it if there was a way. Worst book in years. No I did not finish.
