Publisher's Summary

New York Times best-selling author Charlaine Harris has created a phenomenon with her Sookie Stackhouse novels, which are the basis for the smash hit television program True Blood. In this companion piece to her wildly popular series, Harris explains the fate of a character shrouded in mystery.

Sookie's cousin Hadley ran away years earlier and hasn't been heard from since. When Mr. Cataliades visits on behalf of the vampire queen of Louisiana, Sookie finally learns that Hadley was murdered during a cemetery ritual. Now, the queen has an unusual request of Sookie that will force the telepathic cocktail waitress into a difficult situation.

"One Word Answer" can be enjoyed on its own, but devotees of the series will find the story especially enjoyable, as it helps bridge the gap between Dead as a Doornail (Book 5) and Definitely Dead (Book 6).

"One Word Answer" is part of the collection A Touch of Dead.

WARNING! Read before you buy....

"One Word Answer" can be enjoyed on its own, but devotees of the series will find the story especially enjoyable, as it helps bridge the gap between Dead as a Doornail (Book 5) and Definitely Dead (Book 6)."

But what it should say is that it is also found in the collection of short stories "A Touch of Dead"....

If you have the collection, you don't need this...if you don't have the collection (and I am assuming you are a fan of the series) then go get the collection instead of this. Otherwise, Johanna Parker is great as always and the stories are always fun.

WASTE OF MONEY!

As I listened to this audiobook, I thought it sounded very familiar but I hadn't downloaded it before. Now, looking back at past purchases and after doing a little searching, it is a snippet taken out of "A Touch of Dead". I can't believe this is being passed off as a new story! I know it didn't cost much, but save your shekels and purchase "A Touch of Dead" instead.

well worth it

I fully enjoy everything Charlaine Harris writes, short or long. With a few short sentences, I am immediately pulled back into humid Northern Louisiana, and back to Bon Temps with some of my favorite characters. I could read these books 100 times and never tire of them. I highly recommend this entire series.

A Taste of True Blood

Would you say that listening to this book was time well-spent? Why or why not?

No. I am not a big fan of the show 'True Blood', to begin with. I read this because it was a short story and might be more interesting than the show. I have seen several episodes of the show. I had never read any of the books.

Has One Word Answer turned you off from other books in this genre?

No. I generally enjoy reading vampire/paranormal/fantasy books.

drawl, female, Sookie

Did One Word Answer inspire you to do anything?

No.

Any additional comments?

No.
